Time ~ 12:25 p.m. ~ Carter's POV ~

Location ~ Forest at Half-way Point - Giant Tree ~

After waiting for a couple of minutes I saw Tyler approaching.  I was so nervous and after a couple seconds of freaking out I calmed down.  He came up to me carrying a book and a container with something in it.  I took note of his outfit which consisted of a pink and blue flower crown with a pastel blue shirt and black pants.  He was also wearing a cloak that appeared to be a very dark shade of purple.  I was surprised when I looked at his face to see he had some batter on it and his raven hair was more of a mess than usual.  Before I could ask him what it was from I became aware that I had just been staring at him for a while.  Feeling slightly embarrassed I looked at the and hyped myself up.

"So um, why do you have batter on your face?" I asked while mentally slapping myself for sounding like an idiot.

He gained a slight blush before responding with, "O-oh I do!?  Sorry I didn't realize before I left.  I was making brownies before I came here and didn't have time to clean up.  Where is it?"

Tyler was being so freaking cute so, instead of responding I just wiped it off his face for him.  This made Tyler become flustered which only added to his adorableness..  After I got it off he immediately hid his face with his book before quietly thanking me.  To which I responded with a laugh.  I decided that I would stop making him flustered and continue the conversation by asking about why  he made the brownies.

"By the way Tyler, why were you making brownies in the first place?" I asked knowing full well why he made the brownies.  I just couldn't help myself and had to make him more nervous during this conversation.

"I made them for you," he said his voice barely a whisper.  "But it was only because my sister and dad made me!" he finished to defend his previous actions.

"Alright if you say so," I said with a smirk.

We finally sat down under the tree on the blanket and proceeded to show each other the baked goods we made.  Tyler went first since I knew what he made.  When I saw them I was surprised by the edition of the sprinkles.  It was so adorable and when I looked over to comment on it Tyler was looking away so I couldn't see his face.  Why was he so cute.  I complimented him on how good they looked and he responded with a muffled thanks.  When I revealed the sugar cookies a made Tyler's face light up.  He looked so excited and it made my heart hurt at how cute this boy was.  While I was dying from Tyler's adorableness, he was telling me how good the cookies looked and that just made me all the more in love with this boy.  I told him that he could go ahead and try one and he just looked at me with a questioning look before excitedly trying one.  He looked so happy while he ate that cookie and it melted my heart.

Once he finished his cookie he asked me to try his sprinkle brownies.  I took one and bit into it.  It was pretty ok and the sprinkles helped a lot with that.  I didn't want to make him upset or discourage him so I smiled nd finished it.  I told him it was good to which I was rewarded with a smile that rivaled the freaking sun.  He also said something but I wasn't paying attention so I just nodded.  After he finished speaking about whatever it was he was talking about I brought something up probably completely unrelated.

"Hey Tyler.  You know how your birthday was like a week ago," I said to him.

"Yeah... What about it?" he asked clearly confused by the change of topic or you know.  The fact that I randomly brought up his birthday.

"Well since I couldn't give you a present then I decided to give you one now," I explained handing him a mystery book I bought him.  "Happy late birthday!"

He took the book and looked at before he exclaimed excitedly, "Oh my gosh!  I've been looking for this book for a while but I couldn't find it!  Thank you so much!"

"I just picked a book that I thought you'd like.  That's a cool coincidence though," I responded.  Wow I really lucked out on that one.

He then proceeded to read the book while ignoring my existence.  This at least gave me a chance to get a better look at him without him noticing me.  Thinking about that again I sound like a creep but I didn't mean it that way.  Anyways I got a god look at his face and noticed some things I hadn't seen before.  The first thing that stood out to me were his eyes.  They were such a beautiful purple.  When I looked at them I felt like I was seeing some magic power held by the fey.  I also took note of just how much of a curly mess his hair was.  Like seriously it looked like he never brushed it.  I suddenly became aware of how close I was to him.  If I wanted I could just pull him into a hug I mean I doubt he would notice while he was reading.  I looked away for a few moments to consider this in fear that he would end up seing me staring at him.  While thinking I noticed that there was a weight on my shoulder.  I looked back over to see Tyler alseep holding his book and leaning on my shoulder.  I decided in that moment to move him so that he was laying on my lap.  As he slept I stroked his hair and just watched him as his chest slowly rose and fell.

When he woke up I just smiled and watched him slowly realize what was happening.  He quickly became flustered and got up.  He looked away from me as he ate a second cookie.  He was so cute.  I wonder what would happen if I just kissed him.  Wait!  What am I thinking!?  That's not a good idea.  Or is it?  Nope! No! No!  Just forget about that.  I noticed that the sun was stating to set and sadly told Tyler that we should probably go home.  I gave him the cookies and we parted ways.
