"Riley!" Mia yelled, entering through her cousin's window. "Mia!" Riley yelled. "Merry Christmas!" The two yelled at each other, hugging the life out of each other. "I know we saw each other last night for dinner and presents but I'm still so happy!" Riley cheered. "Because of your Christmas party?" Maya asked, popping her head in. "What party?" Riley asked. "Oh, you're having a Christmas party on the roof in an hour," Mia told Riley. The girls laughed and grouped hugged.
"Group hug!" Farkle yelled entering the room. The girls laughed and stopped hugging. "Don't stop on our account," Zay and Lucas appeared. "Oh, I have presents!" Mia clapped her hands, grabbing a bag from outside the window. "I worked my butt off for these." She gave a box to each of her five friends. "You didn't have to," Lucas told her. "I wanted to. Open them!" She handed them each a box.
Riley has a new white teddy bear with a pink heart on its chest. "I love it!" She smiled and hugged Mia.
Maya got some paintbrushes and paint. "How'd you know?" Maya asked. "Best friend's intuition." Mia grinned. The two hugged.
Zay opened his present. Inside his box were two of his grandma's cookies. "Riley and I called your grandma explaining how it's a new year and you miss her. Long story short I smoothed talked, your grandma and she gave me the recipe. She also loves Riley. So I promised her I won't use the recipe till she's passed on. So grandma herself made these." Mia explained. "I love it thank you, Mia. And Riley for helping." Zay hugged Mia and gave Riley a side hug.
Lucas opened his present. Inside was a cowboy hat. "You kept it all these years?" Lucas asked her. "I loved it. This was special to me. I think you should have it back though. Maybe give it to your kid in the future." Mia told him. "A hat?" Maya asked. "Before the mutt in busters competition every kid got a hat. Except for Mia." Lucas told them. "So Lucas gave me his hat when he was done and then it was my turn to ride. I set the record and made him look bad. He was convinced it was cursed for him so I should keep it." Mia added. "Mia didn't get one because they said it wasn't lady-like. You never cared though. Your reputation was ruined outside of our families because you weren't like other girls." Zay continued.
"No, and I wouldn't change a thing." Mia smiled. "Thanks, Mia." Lucas hugged her.
Then Farkle opened his present. Inside the box are two tickets to the science fair convention of New York. "How'd you know I wanted to go?" Farkle asked. "I pay attention Farkle." She told him. "Thank you." He hugged her. "You're all welcome." Mia grinned happily.
Mr. and Mrs. Matthews entered the room. "Hey, Mia we just wanted to say thank you for the gifts. Auggie is playing with his toy right now." Topanga thanked her. "You're welcome. I'm glad you guys like them." Mia smiled. They left and the group started talking about the party.
Upon the roof, music was playing. "People dance?" Riley asked shocked. "Yeah, that's what people do. This isn't middle school where they just stand and talk." Mia pointed to where a few random couples were making out. "Where's Farkle?" Mia asked looking and. Riley shrugged. "Hey, Mia I need my dancing buddy." Jay walked up to her. She grinned. "Let's go!" Mia cheered.
On the dance floor. "So is he here?" Mia asked Jay. "Yes. That's why I asked you to dance. He's watching us." Jay whispered. Mia grinned at him. The song 'Dance with me tonight' by Olly Murs was playing. "Did you know Mia can dance?" Riley asked Maya. "I mean at school dances..." Maya trailed off. "People dance at parties?" Maya asked. Zay approached the girls. "Yeah, and they do that. Mia pointed it out to me." Riley pointed to the couples that were making out.
"Are they eating each other?" Zay asked, grossed out. "Did you know Mia could dance?" Maya asked. "I knew she liked to dance. I just never thought she would dance in public," Zay admitted. "Why?" Riley asked. "I'm not saying she's bad. She is surprisingly good. Just she never seemed to wanna dance." Zay spoke.
