I haven’t had enough time to eat breakfast as I did my rounds this morning checking all the kids and arranging some of their paper because they will be discharge later. Everyone was so happy to know that those kids made progress and really fight ‘til they can just to be completely fine. As they will be discharge this afternoon, I still arrange them some meetings for a monthly check up.

“Doctor Yoongie!” came the excited little girl who’s running her way towards me. As she arrived in front of me, I picked her up from the ground and hold her with my arm.

“How’s my little princess?” I asked the timid kid who’s smiling mischievously at me.

“I’m good.” she cheerfully announced “I got you something.” She cheekily said as she was still hiding her little hand in her back.

I pretend to be thinking what she got for me and I saw her giggled. I laid my hand in front of her asking her to put what’s on her hand to my palm and she actually did.

“Awe. Thank you Sooyeon-ah.” I thanked her after seeing the lollipop in my palm and also kissed her cheek as how grateful I am.

“Welcome.” She said back then also kissed my cheek. That always happened. Every time I kissed her she will kissed me back. This kid was one of the sweetest kid I’ve ever known. She is also kind and thoughtful but she was so shy type. You kinda need a little effort and letting her know that she can trust you with that she will start to be friend with you. She kind of doesn’t talk to stranger. I remembered a month ago. She doesn’t really talk to anyone but only to her auntie. Later after that her auntie told us that little Sooyeon promised to her mom that she won’t talk to stranger as she was only five year old. But glad as me being the bubbly doctor that kind of help me to be close with her and she started to talk to me and she said I’m only her favorite doctor. Funny right. “It’s for you. You can eat now.” She happily said as she was looking at me. I smiled at her and kissed her cheek again because on how adorable she was.

“Okay. But I need to put you down first.” She nodded then I walked to the Information desk and put the kid on the counter. “Hold on me so you won’t fall.” She held on my lab gown as she was eyeing me unwrapping the lollipop.

“Oh, that’s what she gave you?” asked nurse Kang also eyeing the lollipop with Head Nurse Bae beside her. “She’s been waiting for you here and told us she wants to give her doctor Yoongie something.” I chuckled as to how little Sooyeon liked me a lot compare to other doctors here. But this lollipop doesn’t like me a lot because it’s giving me hard time. But later on I manage to unwrapped it and put it inside my mouth and look to the little kid who’s looking at me proudly. I tap her nose with my forefinger and she giggled cutely that warm my heart.

“Yeonie.” Said the familiar voice. Both Sooyeon and I tilted our head to the side. When my eyes landed at her my heart made me the nervous wreak again. It’s already a week since the last time I saw her and we had talk.

“Mommy!” voice out the little Sooyeon. Then she held her arms open for her mommy. My heart quicken her beat inside my rib cage as she took a walk near us. When she was only half a meter she looked at me and smiled before taking her daughter off the counter. She held her daughter carefully on her arms then both of them looked at me with smile on their face.

“Hi.” She said eyeing me amusedly trying herself not to chuckle. That’s when I remembered the lollipop on my mouth and I quickly took it feeling my face heat up. Gosh! This is embarrassing. I stayed quiet as I don’t know what to say.

“Um. Sorry if Sooyeon might have disturbed you all while working. I went to the comfort room and went back that she’s gone on her bed.” I shook my head telling her that everything’s fine and little Sooyeon is not a burden. She relax afterwards knowing that.

“Doctor Yoongie, finish your lollipop now before the ant take it fom you.” I felt my face heat up again as to the kid’s remark. God! Why am I being so shy now? Before, every time Sooyeon gave me a lollipop it’s fine with me if everyone see me eating it. I actually do rounds with lollipop stuck on my mouth but now I’m being all so shy in front of her mom. But as to the kid I put back the lollipop inside my mouth and just try to avoid making eye contact with her mom because for sure I will be turn red because of embarrassment.

“We’ll go now.” Said the mother and my eyes suddenly divert to her own. I’m drowning to her eyes. There’s something in there that kind of pulling me. Weird. Little Sooyeon wave her hand to the two nurses inside the ward and to me last. Her mother only smiled to us before taking their leave with the last word of “cute.” She says. I guess she was referring to her daughter with that word. Man! I’m so embarrassed that she had to see mewith lollipop. Gosh! That’s so unprofessional.
