After playing with little Sooyeon, I went to my department’s ward with the thought of why Jessica was acting a little strange. She said it was nothing when I asked her but I know there’s something behind that nothing. I just hope she’s fine or everything’s fine.

I came in a view of my department’s doctors who’s having their snack. While having a little talk.

“Hey! Am I not invited to snack party? Not fair!” they all turn their head at me and laughed afterwards. As the playful doctor I am, I pouted and crinkled my nose that made them giggled on their seat.

“WelerftsromeforryouProfrIm.” Dr Choi said with a mouth full of sandwich.

“Unnie!” Doctor Seo whined at Dr Choi

“Dr Choi! Swallow your food first before you speak!” Dr Hwang muttered annoyingly. While Dr Tae gave Dr Choi a tissue. Woah. Smell something fishy.

“ProfIm”

“Choi Sooyoung!” Dr Choi became statue on her seat because of the scary voice of Tiffany that she barely use.

“Fany-yah, calm down.” I said as I walk on her side and put my arms around her shoulder. “Don’t scare the poor kid.” I winked at Dr Choi right after she look at me and I saw a light pink crept at her cheeks.

I took Fany’s hand who’s holding her sandwich then guide it to my lips then took a bite on the sandwich then I also sip on her coffee.

Everyone knew here that Fany and I are best friend so there’s no malicious thing in everything we did.

“Taengo, lean your face forward.” I told Dr Tae as she was on the other side of the table facing Dr Hwang, while Dr choi sat beside her then Dr Seo was sitting beside Fany. Dr Tae lean forward and I swipe off the crust of bread on the corner of her lips using my thumb.

“Thanks Yoong.” She said after giving me a mischievous smile that made her dimple visible then she went back munching her sandwich.

“Yoong. Why don’t you take a seat?”

I followed what Fany suggested and sat on the remaining chair. Dr Seo pushes the box of bread in front of me and Dr Choi, did it too as she pushes the coffee.

“That’s Sooyoung unnie’s treat.” Dr Seo said. I turned my gaze at Dr Choi and she was smiling sweetly.

“Because it’s a pay day.’ She happily exclaimed. We laughed at her cuteness. She’s new but we all became close to her because she was kind and all. She has a playful attitude too and a dork.

“Lucky you, you don’t have a rent to pay.” Taeyeon said halfheartedly. Her family was in Jeonju while here she was in Seoul and leaving alone in her apartment.

“Want to live with me? I have a spare room in my place.” Dr Choi offered and Dr Tae tilted her head almost instant because of a sudden offer, ouch. That hurts I know. Dr Choi was rich, she wasn’t living with her parents but she owned a house here in Seoul she said it was a gift from her parents.

We are all waiting for Dr Tae’s response to the offer but she was remaining silent in her seat while staring at Dr Choi disbelief.

“Taengo, just accept the offer so you won’t need to pay high on your monthly rent that cost almost half of your paycheck.” Fany suggested and Dr Seo encourage Dr Tae also.

“The house isn’t that big but we don’t need to clean it because my mom pay someone to clean the house. There’s also a lot of food in my refrigerator.”

Taeyeon unnie released a sigh and only thanked Dr Choi on her offer.

“Then I will offer you my house too if you want.” Now it was Dr Seo. This kid was living alone on her own house too. She gets whatever she want from her parents but she’s not a spoiled brat. She was actually a good daughter. And she was Hyo unnie, my cousin’s best friend that’s the reason why we became close too to each other and she was really kind. She was always on our house too because of Hyo unnie. They love to hang out too and go clubbing. Sometimes I suspected them in relationship though but when I’m looking at Seohyun she was so girly that impossible for her to be in relationship with the same gender.

“Kids I’m fine. Don’t worry.” She beamed us a sweet smile as she cleared that she’s really fine.

We all stayed having a little chitchat but I need to excuse myself with the fun conversation when my phone rang. I went to the side for a privacy as I answered my phone. It was my sister Soojung who’s calling.

“Hello Soojung-ah.”

“Unnie" I heard my sister cried on the other line as she call me

“Soojung what’s wrong?” I asked and I’m started to get nervous “Soojung tell me what’s wrong?”

“W-we…..we t-took mom to…. We a-are
My sister burst again into crying. 

“Come on Soojung tell me what happened to mom!”

“Yoong, we took mom here at Esenesde Medical Hospital.”
I almost broke down on what Hyo Unnie said. Mom

“What happened unnie?”

“She collapse on the house while she was arranging her flower garden then we tried to wake her up but she doesn’t wake up that’s why we took her to the hospital and she still in the ICU up until now.” I noticed how Hyo unnie was trying not to cry. My heart was now beating fast because of what I’ve heard to them. “Y-yoong you still there?”

“I…..I-I’ll go there, unnie. I’ll be there in 15 minutes.” Hyo unnie told me to drive safe before I ended the call. I didn’t bother to change as I gathered my things and leave my office

“Yoong!”

I stop momentarily when I heard Fany call my name.

“I’ll be out for a while. You’ll be in charge for now Fany.” I tried to sound’s okay but my voice failed me as it came a little hoarse.

“Yoong what happened?” They were all now standing on their feet while looking at me worriedly. My tears already fell from my eyes and I saw them got shocked.

“I have to go. A private matter.”I gave them an assuring smile then I run out of our wards then immediately took the elevator. Prying that my mom was fine. As the door open, I quickly prepare myself for a run but right before I could go out I bump to someone who entered the elevator

“Dr. Im.” I lock eyes with Jessica and her eyes went wide when she saw my state. Tears was still falling from my eyes “What happened?” She took a step near me and I saw how worried she was. “Dr I---

“I-I h-have to go.” I said as I step outside but she stop me by holding my wrist

“I don’t know what happened but I hope everything’s fine.” She wipe the tears on my cheek then smiled at me while her hand stayed on my cheek. I grab her hand on my cheek and squeeze it lightly. She gave me another smile and that warm my heart.
I let go of her hand and she also let go my wrist and I took one last glace at her before running to the entrance then run again to the parking lot.

It took me fifteen minutes to arrive at the esenesde medical hospital. I immediately went to the information center and ask if where I could go for my mother. They told me that someone registered her and was still on the ICU and I went there after.

I saw Hyo Unnie hugging my sister as they both waiting for the doctor to come out of the ICU.

“Soojung-ah.”
They look up and stain of tears were on their both cheeks.
I hug the both of them telling mom will be fine and we all silently pray in our seat still waiting for the result.
