Link instantly drew his sword and stepped in front of you protectively, his angered glare never wavering. "You there! Who are you!" One of the men barked through his clenched teeth. Without looking, Link quickly grabbed your wrist from behind when he sensed you jolt in fright. "How dare you trespass upon Lady Impa's abode!"

By now, a few stray villagers were looking on at the standstill. Link kept his guard up, but his sword never moved and his feet never shifted. The same went for the two men. Their spears never thrusted forward and their feet remained planted. However, you noticed one of the men's eyes make their way down to Link's side. "Is that....a Sheikah Slate!? But that would mean...."

The other man gasped, "No, it's not possible! Can it be?" The two men then swiftly lowered their spears, turning them upright like staffs as they resumed their former, relaxed postures. When you noticed Link hesitantly sheath his sword, you figured it was safe enough to stand behind him once more to better see the men. "Please forgive us for behaving so rudely. Please, go ahead and step inside."

"Wait!" The other man loudly interrupted. "Then who are you?" He pointed right at you, and your face paled at the sudden return of his defensive tone, which could've easily been mistaken for hostility.

"Uh, I'm (Y/N)....sirs." You replied nervously. Then, to help appease the men and prove you were trustworthy, Link placed his hand on your shoulder and sent the men a reassuring nod. "I was instructed to help Link on his quest by.... Well, an ambiguous, unnamed voice."

The two men nodded in sync before one finally replied, "Alright. Stay here, please. Lady Impa wishes to speak to Link, and Link alone." Link sent you a worried glance at the man's claim, his face still blank as always. Sending the silent swordsman a small smile, you took a step back, a non-verbal way of giving him space and further reassuring him that it should be perfectly fine by herself for the time being. Link held his gaze a moment longer before slowly ascending the wooden staircase leading to Impa's house.

As you waited, you realized this was one long goddess forsaken talk. Link had been inside for what felt like ages. Yet still, you remained just outside the staircase, having taken a seat on the grassy, dusty ground right in front of a row of small stone statues. Each one had a small wooden box of sandy dirt inside, all containing a lone apple aside from one box. Figuring it was some kind of offering ritual setup, you polished all of the apples with the help of the cloth mask after removing it from around your neck.

Even after you finished that mundane task, Link still hadn't come out! With a bored huff, you decided to explore the village a little because otherwise, you were seconds away from falling asleep from lack of entertainment. From what you were able to take in right off the bat, Kakariko Village was quite the isolated location, and an especially small and cramped one at that. Few people, no matter their age, were out and about. Very few livestock were present, and the buildings weren't anything near plentiful. The village almost seemed like it was some kind of family village, meant only to serve and protect an overall collective family made up of few connected individual ones.

Aside from the clothing store you had first visited upon your arrival, there were only three other businesses. An inn, a produce store, and an arrow store were the only other buildings set up for income. Aside from the four businesses, there were probably only about eight other buildings in the village, counting Impa's.

Since it still wasn't too late in the day, you didn't bother to step into the inn and potentially waste anyone's time. Instead, you decided to check out the produce shop first since I was the next closest supply. A kind old woman greeted you, presenting the four stocks she had to offer and explaining what most customers would use them for, or rather how to use them.
