Chapter 5. Wood Morning

I heard my alarm clock go off beside me, making me jump up and quickly run to the kitchen.

"Okay, so everyone loves pancakes right?" I asked myself as I pulled up a recipe on my laptop, following it step by step to make some really thick and fluffy pancakes.

I grabbed a couple of pancakes and a glass of juice before walking into my bedroom to give Gwen some breakfast in bed, little did I know was that she was also awake and midway through dressing.

She turned around at agressive speeds, all she wore was panties.

"I AM SO SORRY!" I yelled as I quickly placed the food on the ground as she seemed to squeak in fear, I slammed the door behind me as I left the room.

"It's alright Y/n, just gotta learn to knock next time" She said with a laugh, I went back to the kitchen and grabbed my serving for breakfast.

As I sat at the table I heard the bedroom door open, and as soon as Gwen entered my vision my brain started to undress her, which was pervy of me but I tried not to.

What caught my interest was that I didn't see any major injuries on her anymore, only a small cut where she was stabbed by something.

"Hey. Y/n. Eyes up here" Gwen said as she moved my chin to meet each others eyes.

"Sorry Gwen... It's just that I saw your injures weren't really... there" I apologized and explained for why I stared.

Gwen lifted her shirt to show me the now pretty much non-existent wound.

"Spider healing!" She said happily as she placed her plate on the opposite side of the table from me.

"But... spiders don't have like superior healing, hell they probably don't heal at all" I said in confusion as we both seemingly forgot that I just got a glimpse of her body.

She seemed to just break as she realised that super healing wasn't a power that spiders have, making her question her own power.

"Oh, thanks for the breakfast by the way Y/n! What's planned for today?" Gwen asked, taking another bite from her pancakes.

"Well I need a new phone first... But I wanna look into the science trip event that happened at Oscorp" I replied, looking at my laptop as I both googled and ate at the same time.

So far it's the same story that Harry told me, just a specimen escape that caused the facility to relocate the project to somewhere else, but they never state where other than it still being in New York.

I heard Gwen choke a little after hearing our plans for today.

"Are you sure about that Y/n? The event that follows after finding the specimen usually brings you into a life of oddities" Gwen explained, grabbing my free hand.

We both looked into each others eyes for a small while before I replied.

"Yesterday was an odd day, and a fun one at that, even if we both nearly died" I replied, taking my hand away softly and continuing to search.

Gwen looked at me both scared and intrigued, I don't know what that specimen is but if it's causing so much trouble then I want to know what it is.

"We should talk about that... thing... that attacked us last night" Gwen said, bringing up the fact that I was missing a wall.

"Yeah! That thing had all your powers, did it come from your dimension?" I asked, closing my laptop.

She looked down at her pancakes briefly as she seemed to think about the question.

"I've never seen anything like it Y/n. Anywhere. Not in my dimension, Miles's dimension or any of the dimensions as a matter of fact, closest thing I've seen is Peni and her mech" Gwen told me, sipping some juice.

I was getting kinda annoyed by how I didn't know any of the people she was talking about, Miles's sounded familiar but I had no clue who Peni was.

"Who are those people? Like yeah I know that they aren't from this dimension but it would be cool to know about these other people" I asked, getting up and grabbing our now empty plates.

Gwen sighed.

"They are all other spider people. There's mainly Peter Parkers but there are also others like me, such as Peni" Gwen explained.

"And that Miles guy" I added on for her.

"Yeah... Miles..." She said sadly as she looked at her gear under the coffee table.

We were both silent as I washed our dishes, she obviously had something going on with this Miles person. Maybe they were related? Or he's her boyfriend who she can't reach now due to this teleporter situation.

"Wait, wouldn't Miles like come to visit you and then he can help you get back home?" I asked as I looked for my wallet for phone shopping.

"Me and Miles... were a thing" Gwen stated, sounding sad.

Knew it.

"But one day... I caught him kissing another girl, some bitch calling herself 'Silk' from another dimension. I broke up with him immediately and went on a fighting rampage across the multiverse, helping people in need while letting off steam" Gwen explained, her eyes went wet with tears as she held back her cries.

Cheating sucks, but for a relationship that was so long distance that it was multidimensional, it must of had a lot of trust.

I walked over to Gwen and hugged her as she sat on the chair, she seemed to jump at first but then returned the hug as she started to breakdown into my shoulder, we were like that for what felt like hours before she finally calmed back down.

"I'm sorry I made you bring that up Gwen, we can wait till tomorrow to go shopping and for today I'll get you as much comfort food as you want" I told her, she looked up to me and smiled as she brushed away a tear drop.

"That'll be nice, thank you Y/n" Gwen thanked, getting up and walking towards where the couch was.

She stopped in her tracks as she looked around the lounge area, realizing the couch was now gone.

"Where did it go?" She asked as she gestured to the empty space in the middle of the lounge area.

I laughed a little as I explained how hard it was for me to move an entire couch down the apartment stairs that was covered in blood without attracting attention.

"So we need a new couch too huh?" Gwen sniffled with a smile.

We both laughed a little.
