Chapter 6. Spider Shopping

It was sudden, and terrifying, but now I have a Spider Bot holding me up by my neck in the middle of a shopping mall with the only person strong enough to save me on the other side of the mall in a toilet, but hey lets go back a few hours to see how this happened.

"So we need a new couch too huh?" Gwen sniffled with a smile.

We both laughed a little.

"Yeah, I called up Harry a while ago so when we get home later today the wall should be all fixed up, but you are going to need to wear this" I said as I passed her a face mask.

She gave me a confused look.

"Well Gwen Stacy here is dead remember? You may have different hair from her but you for sure have her face" I explained as Gwen put the mask on.

"I look like a person from Earth-1218" Gwen said as she shifted the mask around to cover her nose and mouth.

I decided to ignore her talking to herself as we walked over to the nearby shopping mall, which luckily has a furniture store inside it.

As we looked at the lounges I noticed that Gwen wasn't paying full attention and kept looking at the price tags in worry.

"You know that if you buy one of these that you'll go into debt right?" She said as I pressed a button on the couch that had a little minifridge pop up from the center console.

"Okay this couch might but Harry gave me some money to splurge on a new one, but I don't think we need a minifridge inside it" I said as I pressed the button again and saw the minifridge go back into the couch.

Gwen simply nodded and looked at some of the cheap second hand ones while I looked at the overly fancy new ones which we did not need.

Then I heard a voice that I wish wasn't here at the moment.

"Y/n? Is that you?" I heard an elderly voice ask.

"Oh! May! How have you been?" I welcomed aloud, trying to warn Gwen.

I kept May's attention as Gwen walked out of the shop and across the mall, knowing that May might have a heart attack if she saw her.

"I've been great Y/n, how is work? I hear from Harry that you managed to get a pizza to the Statue of Liberty with nothing but a scooter and $5" She said with an impressed smile.

"Yeah it was insane, I still don't understand why they wanted it at the statue but they got it warm and fresh" I laughed off as we left the couch store.

Me and May talked over lunch at the center of the mall while I assumed Gwen was hiding in a nearby toilet, that was when it happened, a group of Fisk Drones landed into the mall through the windows on the ceiling, they weren't Spider ones but also weren't building based ones either, they looked like template ones straight off the production line.

"May, run" I demanded to her, she seemed to consider staying at first but decided it would be best to get out of there.

The drones started to approach me, metal fists at the ready.

"Why the fuck are you coming at me Fisk? I've done nothing to you for years!" I yelled as I dodged a leaping Fisk Drone.

I ran to the cafe counter where I was eating lunch and grabbed a fork from their cutlery selection. Then ran at one of the six drones and plunged it into it's shell, which is usually metal but this one was made of a carbon like cheap plastic so the fork took apart the casing.

"Did Fisk send you out to kill me or..." I said to myself as I ripped out some machine parts from the drones which were basically zip-tied in.

"You're a distraction" I realised as I felt something pick me up by the throat and lift me towards the ceiling, there stood upside-down was an upgraded Spider Bot.

The Bot slowly applied pressure to my throat as I saw it's head fold into it's body, a hologram then popped up of Fisk's head.

"Hello Mr L/n, You've caused me quite the problem with your EMPs and attempted stopping of apprehending an interdimentional threat to our Earth" He explained as his hologram buzzed.

"I... don't know what *hck* you mean?" I said as I struggled to get air.

The Bot's head returned back to normal as it dropped me to the ground, which is when I noticed the weak point in the Bot's design.

After I stood up, the Bot dropped to the ground on it's feet and stomped towards me, slinging webs to try catch me, but I quickly slipped behind the cafe bar to think out a plan.

"Fisk! I want to make a deal!" I yelled as I jumped up from the bar. The Bot lowered his web shooters and opened his head to show Fisk's hologram once more.

Fisk was about to talk, but I didn't give him time to by using a long bread knife, jumping off the top of the bar and plunging it deep into the Bot's open head. It tried to close it's head back up after I left the bread knife in it but whatever mechanism usually keeps it closed locked up and broke, making the Bot's head fall apart.

"Blind, deaf and speechless. Finally" I sighed as I shoved the Bot's open neck under the sink and poured water into it, destroying the Bot entirely.

I collapsed around the destroyed drones and the Bot's body, which is when I noticed a large SD card sticking out of the broken Bot head, I slowly pulled it out and pocketed it as I stood up.

Gwen walked up behind me in disbelief.

"I was gone for like 10 minutes Y/n, how the fuck did this happen?" Gwen asked as she kicked the head across the cafe.

"Well I think Fisk is after me because I stopped him from going after you, and I think he is after you for some multi-dimensional reason" I explained as we started walking back home, cops passing us by who went to the inncident.

We talked about possible theories of how Fisk could be tracking us as we got back into the apartment, and why exactly Fisk wants to take down Gwen.

Then we got up to the front door of the apartment, where Flash Thompson was talking to Harry.

"Oh shit" Gwen and I said in unison.
