Chapter 12. Magic

Thanks to the money Brian gave me I had a reason to go to the mall.

I headed to my car but Katie called me "Alice wait up" she said.

"hi" I said. "Do you have a minute?" She asked "well I'm going to the mall so come with me" I said.

"Sounds like a plan my parents won't be home for awhile so lets go!" She said and hopped in.

"Okay, so start talking" I said as I drove. "You know the dance is coming up and I'm going right" she said.

"Yeah" I said slowly.

"Okay but there's one problem though" she said, "what's the problem?"

"I don't have a date well I don't need one but then again..." she said and extended her arms. "Wow what a problem I don't have a date either cause I'm not going" I said.

"Yeah, but Adam is going to ask you" she said and slouched on the seat,"he might not you never know" I said.

"Look, who cares if we don't have dates we can have fun without guys" I said.

I would like a date to the dance but being with my friends is better.

"Yeah...okay what am I even saying I don't need a guy to have a good time I have my girls!" she said and seemed proud.

We arrived at the mall and parked. "Okay so why are we at the mall?" She asked as we walked. "To find a dress!"

I shouted. "Oh okay so first we'll go to..." she said and thought for moment.

"Um just a shop where they have dresses" she said so we did end up going to like three shops and none of the dresses suit me I didn't like the color or it didn't look good on me.

"What dress is this for again?" she asked. "For a wedding" I said looking around.

"Well this wedding better be worth it."

"Ugh my feet are killing me just pick a dress already!" Katie complained I just rolled my eyes at her and my feet were killing me to.

"Okay fine how about...there" I said and pointed to a small shop that's call Magic.

"That shop is small I bet they barely have any dresses" Katie said but I walked into it anyway. "Hi welcome, if you need any help I'd be happy to help you" the lady who worked here said and greeted us.

Me and Katie started looking. "How about this one" Katie said and held up a green dress with white small flowers on it.

"Uh I'm not a fan of green" I said Katie kept showing some more dress but I said no so I gave up.

Image me trying to find a dress for the ball. "You know want all just choose this one, it's yellow and simple" I said and got the dress hanging on the rack next to me.

I turned around to see Anna looking at herself in another mirror with a pink dress.

"That dress so perfect for the ball" I said coming from behind her.

"Really? Oh I do like it...but I don't have a date to- wait never mind I'm an independent woman!"

"Yeah you are plus don't need anyone you have Annabella and me...possibly if I go" I said with a smile.

"Your right I'm gonna get this while there's still time!" She said and hugged me. "Oh is that the dress your getting?" She asked looking at it.

"Yup, simple and yellow" I said. We both headed to the cashiers and payed.

"Let's go to the food court I'm starving" she said. We ended up going to a pizza stand.

"Hello what can-" the guy said but stopped once he saw Katie his eyes were locked on her eyes. "Uh hi" Katie said they both looked at each other I looked back and fourth at them.

"Ahem so what can I get you guys?" He asked smiling at Katie it was so cute!

We both order what we wanted and got what we wanted. When we where leaving the guy said "come again" I think he liked her but Katie isn't about guys.

"Did you feel the spark?!" I said "what no...whatever" Katie said and laughed we sat down at a table outside and ate.

Once we were done we headed back to my car. I dropped Katie off at her house and i headed for my home.

"I like the dress sweetie" my mom said
"Thanks."

"Where's Brian?" She asked I forgot to tell her about him "oh he went to hang out with some friends " I said putting the dress back in the bag.

"He already made friends wow" she said and seem shocked. I just laughed at the comment.

"Well tomorrow me and Brian are gonna go to the mall and find out clothes as well. You could still come" she said and seemed excited.

"And spend time with you and Brian? No thank...plus why go when I got the dress" I said sitting down.

"Okay you're gonna miss us" she said. I just smiled and rolled my eyes.

"I gotta go" she said as she checked her watch. I knew she would leave sooner or later "okay bye!" I said and she kissed me on the forehead and left.

She can tone the mom thing a bit down. Please.

"I'm alone again Luna" I said and she was sitting on the floor.

"Well time for dessert"
