Jabes' POV

"Quinn! What's wrong with you?! Quinn!" I am not understanding everything that's happening.

What the hell is going on? Without a word, I left my friend and ran after her.

"Quinn!"

I grab her arm to stop her but she resisted by pulling it away from me. I tightly grip on it and gently push her inside my car.

"What's going on? Can you at least explain why—"

I was taken aback when she turns and faces me. Her eyes are glistening with tears.

"Quinn, why? What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

I cup her face and immediately bring her to my arms. Why is she crying like this all of a sudden? What is it with Jaylord that she looks so scared?

"He...ruined my life. He...made me miserable. I went far away from my family's place to avoid him, to never see that face again. But here I am...I just had a close encounter with him again."

I rub her back and wipe the tears on her face using my thumbs. Her lips are a bit shaking and her hands are cold.

"I'm here, I'm here baby. I'm here. Sshhh...Tell me everything. I'll listen."

"Please get me out from this place Jabes. I don't want to see him. Please."

I heave a deep sigh before I drive us away from the coffee shop. She was just silent on her seat and to be honest, I cannot concentrate with my driving because I don't want to see those tears from her eyes.

I decided to bring her in my place for us to talk seriously about Jaylord or whatever miserable thing that she's referring to.

You don't plan to fuck her after hearing her out? Do you?

What the fuck dude?

My subconscious is messing up with me right now. I just want to know everything. Well, I was planning to make love to her when she called in a while ago.

Wait?

Did I just mention love?

No!

This is just about my libido acting weird when it comes to her. I don't remember myself having a hard boner just because of a freaking voice of a woman over the phone.

"Come in,"

She steps inside my room slowly. She sits in the couch and I go to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I put it on the glass table in front of her and sit beside her.

"Thank you. I'm sorry that you have to bring me here."

"It's okay. I'm planning to bring you here when you called in a while ago."
