"KEEFE!" I called up the stairs. "GET YOUR BUTT UP! WE'RE WAITING FOR YOU!"
"BUT FOSTERRRRR!" He called back.
"NO BUTS! GET UP!" This was everyday now. All of us get up and ready for school, while Keefe wakes up last minute and makes us all late.
"FIIIIIIIIINEEEEEE!" That was a first. He would usually argue more. He came rushing down the stairs in his PJ's and hugged me, placing a kiss on my forehead. It was almost a year since we left ad we are all on our last year of University, even though we are technically too young.
"I'm going to school in my PJ's." He announced as we walked into the kitchen to join the others for breakfast.
"What?! No fair! If I can't, you can't." Evangeline complained. We had all gotten much closer over the past year. And Evangeline LOVED to complain. A lot of people thought we were weird since we were so young, but they weren't too mean about it. We all got jobs too. Evangeline, Dex, Biana and Marella all work at this little Cafe near our house. Then there's Linh, who roped Tam and Wylie into working at the pet Smart a few stores away from the pet adoption centre Keefe and I work at, which is next door to the little ice cream shop Fitz works at, which happens to be across from the Cafe. I let out an exaggerated sigh.
"Neither of you are wearing PJ's to school. Keefe is changing after we eat, and that's the end of it." I told them, shooting a glare at Keefe, who just smirked back. Ever since we came to the Forbbiden Cities, Keefe was a lot happier. We all were actually. Of course we missed our families every day, but we still had each other, and we were family in a different way. Tam and Evangeline started dating at some point, and so did Fitz and Marella. Honestly, it was a happy household. We made light conversation as we ate. Once we were done, Linh and I started washing the dishes,w hile the others finished getting ready, or sat around watching T.V. Biana came rushing downstairs wearing her shortest dress, white, jeweled heels, and a bunch of make up.
"Bi, what's the occasion?" I asked her, looking up from the pile of dishes.
"Well, the Cafe is having a party and I don't have time to change after school. I know it's a lot but it's summer so it's ok!" She explained twirling around. She pranced off towards the living room where everyone else was. Well except for Keefe and Evangeline. At that thought, I ran upstairs looking for the 2 trouble makers. I found them in mine and Biana's room, scheming. I put my hands on my hips, put on a straight face and stood there waiting for one of them to notice me.
"Eve, put it there. No, no. Under Fosters pillow. Come on you should know this by no-" Finally Keefe looked up at the door.
"Oh hey Sophie." Evangeline said.
"What are you doing in my room?" I asked, even though all of us knew what they were doing.
"Oh I'm just looking for Mrs. Stinkbottom." Keefe lied.
"I'm no Empath, but I know you're lying so," My phone buzzed."This isn't over." I told them, picking up the phone. We had 5 minutes until school and all of my friends were living with me so I didn't know who could be calling. Probably a scammer or tellamarketer. I looked down and dropped my phone.
