Hazel's POV

The next morning, I woke up with a groan. The left side of my head pounded and a headache started to grow. Just great. Looking at the clock I noticed it was 7:30.

Getting up slowly, I put on my business skirt and white blouse. After putting my hair in a neat yet messy bun, I rushed down the stairs. I sighed with content when the smell of fresh pancakes filled the entire house.

All of a sudden, the doors of the mansion slammed open. My eyes widened at the sight of my best friend walking over to me furiously. I gulped hard when she pointed at me with her manicured hand. She had her black curls pulled back into a ponytail, meaning she is here for business. Her dark skin glowed with anger and clouds seemed to be coming out of her ears.

Looking left and right, I tried to come up with an escape plan. Deciding to run anywhere than staying here, I sprinted away from her. My legs pushed harder when her evil chuckle sent shivers through me. She is a demon. Running through my long hallways and finally making it the living, I pushed the coach in the entrance. However, when I turned around I screamed when I saw her standing there smirking. She was tapping her foot and raised her eyebrow. "Bitch. You thought."

I laughed nervously when suddenly she pulled me into a hug. "I'm so mad at you. You haven't answered any of my calls for three days." Slowly I pulled away and smiled at my beautiful best friend. She wore a skin tight dress that showed off her curves and wore heels that made her taller. She stood at the height of 5'4 while I stood at 5'10. The height difference never mattered though because her personality made her taller.

"Sorry it's just...... its the anniversary of her death, you know." I pushed down the emotions that tried to escape and I smiled. Today it is exactly three years ago of me seeing Emmy dying in my arms.

A sad smile washed over her face, but she didn't mention anything further about it. "That is no excuse for ignoring me. I thought someone might have murdered you or something." At that I rolled my eyes.

Just then Axel walked in looking sleepy as ever. He rubbed his eyes and looked straight at me. Tingles erupted in my stomach at the sight of him. "I heard screaming...." His voice came out huskily and his French accent coming out stronger than usual.

I looked between my friend and Axel. "Oh..... Axel this is my friend Layla." Layla only looked at me with her mouth hung open. I sighed when I realized shit was about to go down.

"So, your telling me that the reason you haven't spoke to me in three days was because you've been fucking this fine specimen." She pointed at him with a smirk. "You're one lucky bitch." I almost chocked and Axel let out a deep chuckle.

"No. Layla. That is not what happened." I gave Axel an apologetic look, but he only looked amused. "How about we go get coffee and talk." I grabbed Layla's arm and started pulling her into the hallway.

"You know it's fine Axel. I don't care that you are fucking my friend, just don't keep her away for so long." My cheeks grew a deep red at my very inappropriate friend.

"Shut up!" I hissed at her while still dragging her. When we finally got near the door, I turned to her. "Look, I just met him yesterday. He was passed out on the beach and he didn't have anywhere to go. So, I asked him if he wanted to move in and....."

"Damn girl that was fast, but I totally approve. I wouldn't be able to deny him either." She interrupted giving me a huge smile.

I shook my head at her. "You are to much to handle." Walking out the door, we both got into my silver Bugatti Divo. "So, Starbucks?" Layla nodded and laid back, closing her eyes.
