Axel's POV

After I heard the girls leave the house, I decided to do some exploring. Mostly in kitchen. The living room held simple elegance with a dark wooden bookcase and a glass window giving the whole room light. In the middle of the room, was a huge leather couch and a glass coffee table. What drew my curiosity was a huge black screen on the wall. What does that do?

After finding no answers with it, I walked down a hall that had paintings along the wall. All the paintings were dark colors and had beautiful sceneries. The hallway was skinny and felt lifeless. Nothing personal that showed anything about Hazel.

Suddenly, I got a huge whiff of something amazing. It was sweet and made my tongue water. Following the smell, it led me to a huge fancy kitchen with many maids. They all wore aprons and many of them had flour on their cheeks. Once I entered, they all smiled at me and asked me to sit at the island in the middle of the kitchen.

My eyes widened at the beauty of the kitchen. At the back of it, was a glass window that worked as a wall and it had silver and white countertops. Pots and pans were hung on top of the island and the kitchen was full of pots clanging together.

"We are making pancakes. Would you like some sir?" A very young women asked me sweetly.

I gave her a quick nod and a brief smile.

Not to much later, a plate of pancakes was in front of me. For some reason human food can satisfy my cravings for a short while or it can distract me from the cravings. "Thank you."

Before I could even get a bite, I could hear footsteps coming up to the front entrance. Like predicted, a knock came at the door. I slowly made my way to the door and when I opened it, anger rang out through my veins.

"What the fuck are you doing here, Bazel." My brother only smirked at me and pushed me out of the way to walk in.

"You can thank our dear ol' sister for that. She thinks its wise if I keep an eye on you in case you go all....... murderous." I growled at him in annoyance. "Also, I met your lady friend." He fake swooned. "She is quite lovely. Feisty." His chuckle caused my fist to clench.

"Why must our sister cause so much commotion. She is the reason I have half the misery I do." I turned away from my brother and started walking up the main steps that are in line with the door. "I have a feeling you know the way out brother, so please do so."

My heartbeat picked up at the sound of a car pulling into the drive-way and Bazel clicked his tongue annoyingly. The two girls were walking in laughing, but it abruptly stopped when they came in through the door. Hazel started to breath heavily and I turned to face her. She was glaring at him and her eyes were burning with fire.

"Hazel. This is my brother Bazel." Bazel's smile broadened and he swung his arm over my shoulder.

"You mean this Dick-wad is your damn brother! He threatened my business." Her nose started flaring. "You need to leave." Her soft hands pointed toward the door. My heart started to swell in my chest and I couldn't help but feel very proud for this strong women.

"I'm truly sorry about that miss, but it was only a test. Which you passed with flying colors by the way." He winked at her causing me to growl at him.

Confusion crossed her face and she asked, "What do you mean a test?"

"Well....... Once I found out my brother here had found his most trusted lady friend, I had to make sure you were queen material. In my opinion, you are more than capable of many things." I clenched my jaw at my brother's double meaning. Why does he keep saying lady friend?
