Chapter 16: Andi

“Why would Chase want to be like us? Doesn’t he know the consequences?” Anna asked me, as I quickly moved around the room in full panic.

“He said that he wanted to be with me, and the only way to do that is to be a spy. That idiot!” I hissed, trying not to pull my hair out in frustration.

Anna sighed, and asked me, “What are you going to do?”

I thought about that for awhile and stared out the window in contempt.

“I guess I’m going to have to go to find him and hopefully, change his mind,” I said, and immediate began to change out of my clothes and took out my weapons.

I stuffed my Glock 29 into my waistband, while I put my Glock 36 into my leather jacket. I took out my two sets of throwing knives into my boots and went to grab my car keys when I noticed Anna sitting there looking at me.

I quickly ruffled into my bag and threw her a pair of jeans, t-shirt, and a jacket.

“Get dressed,” I ordered and she complied, while I search for some more weapons for her.

“Here,” I threw her a Glock 17 and Glock 18, and a swiss knife.

I know this might be hard to belief, but I trust Anna that she’s won’t go against me. Call it instincts or whatever, but somehow, I know that she has my back.

“Let’s go,” I said, and Anna nodded at me, looking serious as ever.

We ran downstairs, and thank goodness everyone went to bed because it would be hell to explain why Chase is not home and why Anna and I were dressed to kick some butt.

I wrote them a quick note, and with that, we climbed into my Bugatti Veyron. I stepped on the pedal hard, and immediately the car pulled out of the driveway. It would take about an hour until we get there, and I really hope Chase didn’t do any permanent damage yet.

“Anna, once we get there, I need you to stay in the car, okay?” I asked her and she looked thoughtful for a minute.

“You trust me enough to leave me behind in your car? You won’t afraid I’d escape?” she asked me, some unknown emotion was going through her eyes.

I sighed, and said, “You’re an assassin. If you wanted to leave, you would have found a way by now. And I know this is hard to believe but I trust you to have my back, like I have yours.”

Anna looked at me for a minutes and smiled, “Thank you. You are the first person to say that to me.”

I smiled back and stepped on the pedal faster, as well as trying of avoid a car ahead of me. I was now going 150 miles per hour on a semi-empty freeway, when I heard sirens from behind me. Anna and I looked back at the police car and I cursed.

“Shit,” I hissed, and floored it until the speedometer could go no further.

“Andi, watch out!” Anna yelled, and I immediately swerved, missing crashing into a car by a mere two inches.

“How the hell are we going to lose them?” I asked Anna.

“Well, we could pull over then take them out,” Anna suggested, and I stared at her incredulously.

“What?! That’s the best idea I’ve got,” she said defensively, and I glanced in the rearview mirror to see the cops still in hot pursuit behind us.

“Damn it,” I growled, and turn to look at Anna who was frustrated as I was.

“Alright, here’s what were going to do,” I said through clenched teeth.
