You might be asking what job I have?
Well, to be more specific than an observer, I watch dreams. An observer is assigned a human to watch over their whole life. From the moment they become an observer to the moment they die. We watch their dreams and, when they end, we take the dream.
I have been assigned Sami Clayton.
Why do we take their dreams?
Dejvu. It is a curse on the mind. You have 4-6 dreams every night. The first is always the weakest and the most recent is the strongest. Since most of the dreams are weak they become distant memories. This means that they can't be remembered without a trigger and when that trigger goes off it is known as Dejevu.
Every time the trigger goes off you become more cursed. So that is why we take dreams. So that they can't be remembered.
Sometimes they are stronger than anticipated but we can do nothing to stop it.
And we leave one dream. The last one. The strongest.
Just so you have something because those are usually not meaningful.
Sometimes we give dreams back after a while because they are needed, but only if it is necessary.
You see, what we do is good. Don't think of it as stealing, think of it as protecting.
But this story that I'm about to begin is different.
This girl is stronger.
But I'm afraid. Her life lies in my hands and there's only so much I can do.
I can't stop the pain. And it's only going to get worse.
