Gosh, I totally lost myself when I started Miss Not-So Sidekick yesterday lolol.

So anyway, sorry for the late update because I was (excuses) and then (excuses) so I have to (crap tons of more excuses) and well, you get the idea.

"Oh my god, " Rita —Princess Jeanette's personal maid— immediately dropped the bucket of water in her grasp as she hurried towards the nearing figure of Felix and Jeanette. "Princess Jeanette! What happened to your dress?! " she gasped out, eyeing the damages on the dress with horror.

There is a noticeably large rip on the bottom part of the dress, and a faint shine of glittering stuffs on the fabric (...glasses?) Even Jeanette's hair that was neatly pulled up to a bun has been messed with!

"..." The brunette simply stared straight ahead, pointedly ignoring the approaching maid.

"Princess Jeanette—? " A look of surprise flashed in the maid's face when Jeanette simply passed over her quietly without glancing back even once.

Seeing that the girl has no intention of responding to her at all, Rita turned towards the red-haired knight.

"Sir Felix...would you mind if I ask of what may have happened to Princess Jeanette? " It was quite worrying for the girl to give her that silent treatment.

Jeanette is very kind and charming to everyone, but Rita had long learned that the girl is actually very dense and trusting. With the use of sugar-coated words and a pledge of loyalty, she had easily won over the princess' trust, and that opportunity raised her from a mere errand girl to a personal maid.

Rita is certain that they are very close. So why is the princess acting so cold toward her right now—?

"His Majesty orders Princess Jeanette to stay in her room for a while to reflect upon her actions. " Felix answered, snapping her out of her thoughts.

"!! " Her eyes widened, aghast by the weight of the knight's words.

"And inform everyone that Princess Jeanette isn't allowed to speak nor see anyone, even her personal maids. " if Felix did notice her sudden pale complexion, he simply ignored it. The knight nod his head towards her once, before making his way back to return to the Emperor's Palace.

"..." Rita gritted her teeth, raising her hand unconsciously to gnaw on her nail. "What happened to the Emperor and Princess Jeanette...?" she murmured to herself.

The Emperor's adoration for Princess Jeanette has been widely spread among everyone in the Palace. And as the brunette's personal maid, Rita is a witness to the amount of gifts that Jeanette had received from Claude.

Rita may not be the appointed Head Maid of the Emerald Palace, but she had prided herself as the highest maid among the others, much higher than that Lilian York of the Ruby Palace, because her ward is the beloved daughter of the Emperor.

When Rita had found out that the Emperor visited Princess Athanasia in her rat hole, it was a huge shock for her when she heard about the new Palace that would be built for the blonde. His Majesty even praised Lilian York, and offered one of his rooms for Athanasia!
