--A Few Hours Ago--
Felix Robane watched the glowing circle of magic spell, which is currently floating above the small body of the slumbering child, in both fascination and nervousness.
"Are you sure that this would work? " he couldn't help but ask for the nth time. He glanced worriedly at the stoic-faced Emperor before shuffling closer at the old magician to whisper, "If this wouldn't work, the Emperor would punish the both of us. "
The old man's brows furrowed. "Please let me focus on my task, Sir Knight Robane. " He answers before reaching out to wipe the sweat on his forehead.
Lowering his voice to a whisper, the old man muttered under his breath, "I am just an old man working at the Tower, not an Imperial Doctor tsk... "
As the old man continues on his initial task, Felix watched in rapt attention. His own knightly conscience prodded at him to do anything to help, but even as the royal knight, he could only rely on the basic types of magic spells. This intricate kinds of magic isn't his forte.
Shuffling in his feet, the knight diverted his eyes towards the direction of the couches. The Emperor's face is expressionless, eyes transfixed on the old man without batting an eye.
He recalls back the events from earlier, when His Majesty arrives at the Main Palace with Miss Athy in his arms. The first thing that he felt was confusion, until he had realized that the child's dress and the Emperor's robe were smeared with blood.
'The child threw up blood, ' he had overheard from the maids that was present on the afternoon tea. 'It was very scary! '
The simple gossip had been proven true when His Majesty summoned all of the capable doctors to the Palace to treat Miss Athy. That is where the problem had started.
With all of their fields of experience on treating illnesses and diseases, even the most talented and experience doctors couldn't point out why Miss Athy had thrown up blood. Some of them had suggested a rare kind of condition, a new kind of illness but in the end, even he could point out that all of it were mere speculations.
Claude didn't took it in well.
All of them were lucky that the Emperor had simply sent them down on the dungeon, because the man is still focused on finding anyone that could treat Miss Athy. If the Emperor isn't focused on the child, he would have slain them by his hand.
Eventually, all of the doctors have given up on trying to diagnose Miss Athy's condition. Felix had initially feared that His Majesty would lash out in anger, until the old man working at the Tower rushed towards the Main Palace with the claim of sensing a large burst of mana from the Palace.
The old man had taken one good look at Miss Athy, before almost bursting into tears.
"The poor child, " the old man had stated. "Her small body couldn't keep up with her own magic! "
