There was an inky blackness coating my eyes. There was a complete emptiness. Nothing in front or behind me. I was the only thing in this place.
It is just me...
I allowed myself to relax in my surroundings it was surprisingly calming. Out of nowhere I felt sudden jolt. The space was shaking.
An earthquake?! No that is stupid... What the hell is going on?!?
An intense light appeared and began to completely engulf the darkness. And suddenly...
"Ana-Lia, wake up!"
Gasp
I sat up as quickly as I could.
My heart was pounding and I was breathing heavily. I looked up to find that I was in my bedroom.Laptop on the desk? Empty bowl of popcorn? The sound of a snoring Marcus? Yep, I am back in the real world. I turned my attention to a slight pulsing sensation on my bandaged hand. Instinctively, I tried to soothe it, hissing lightly at the added pressure.
"Lia?"
My head shot to the side by the sound of my name. It was Kate. She had an adorably confused looked plastered on her face.
"Morning, babes." I said, my voice groggy.
"Why were you apologising?" Kate asked, slightly tilting her head to the side. It was then my turn to look confused.
"Apologising?"
"Yeah, in your sleep."
Realisation hit me. And immediately I was wide eyed.
Oh jeez!
"Uhm..."
"Well, I had a very bad dream." I admitted.
Her faced changed into one of worry.
"Really, what was it about?" She asked.
With a bit of thought I finally came up with something.
"I had a dream that I couldn't hug you or give you kisses. It was horrible!" I said as I fell back dramatically.
"Noooooo!" She yelled and flopped onto my chest. I felt a small sharp pain on my abdomen.
But I ignored it, trapped Kate in my arms and smothered her with hugs and kisses.
"Ah! Stop!" She exclaimed.
I did not comply and just continued. Kate kept on giggling like a maniac.
"Ah! Haha! Stop it! You have smelly morning breath! Ah!"
Gasp
"How dare you, madam?" I said, pretending to be offended.
"Kate does have a point." Said a muttered voice.
Kate and I turned to a waking Marcus. I squinted my eyes, giving him a death glare.
"You guys are the worst." I said bluntly, they just snickered.
