Third person POV

"Are you sure?!" Meliodas asked slightly panicked at what was about to happen, he needed Elizabeth to be completely, 1000% certain.

"Yes" she answered firmly and adjusted the belt that her short-sword hung by.
They were prepping to leave for Liones...well before that they had to meet up with their allies.
By visiting the fairy kings forest Meliodas had already gathered quite a lot of comrades, but he felt that he should have the king of castellio on his side too.
Seems like that wasn't a problem at all when he found out that his dear Merlin had been corresponding to letters sent by the king.
Merlin kept on trying to convince everyone that it was nothing special and that it was merely to pass the time.
Of course everyone secretly knew that she was lying, none more than Meliodas.
"Meliodas, don't forget that I'm a trained knight" Elizabeth said with a smile. "I won't leave your side"

Meliodas's worried face quickly penned out into a deadpan.
"So you say, so you say...but we all know that the moment we step through the city gates you'll be too caught up in guilt and anger and you'll disappear from my side when I'm not looking" Meliodas stated as if it was common fact...which it was, even Elizabeth was aware that was most likely what was gonna happen.

"But I'll be careful" Elizabeth said a bit cheery hoping to change her boyfriends moody attitude to a more lighthearted one. Even though they were going into battle against a demon army doesn't mean that they have to be all moody and sad, especially if the reason he's being like that is her.

"Isn't that what you said regarding the black hound incident that Howzer guy told me about?"

"Shushuhshushssssshh!" Elizabeth panicked and flailed her arms. "You promised we wouldn't ever speak of that agin!" She said and pouted, really she wasn't sure they'd made such a promise but at least she could make him think they had so that he wouldn't ever speak of it again in the future.

"You're so cute when you panic like that" Meliodas chuckled and booped her nose, even making the small "boop" noise himself.
Before Elizabeth could come back with a smart remark Meliodas had already turned around and was on his way.
He didn't like to admit it, nonetheless show it but Meliodas was quite terrified. Sure, Elizabeth had promised he wouldn't loose her, but she couldn't control fate, and Meliodas had always had a feeling that fate had it out for him.
Plus, he had found out during their time together since she learned of her past that she was able to harness small amounts of the power she had in her previous life. At least so they thought.
Meliodas had simply asked if something strange seemed to happen during her time growing up, and yes, there was a few times when the members of her family would find herself injured one moment, but then all well the next. That only seemed to happen in Elizabeths presence tho, so Meliodas guessed she had unconsciously activated her goddess healing powers, but druids are known to be healers too so they couldn't be sure since she, even after training with Meliodas, couldn't do it at will.

"What are you thinking about now" Elizabeth asked when she recognized that look on his face. He'd been wearing that look a lot lately, and despite Elizabeths playful remarks it didn't change anything.

He looked up at her and his frown turned into a smug expression, oh he knew he was about to make her blush.
"You" he said in a bit of a flirty tone of voice.
No blush.
'Well that's a new one' he thought. 'She looks so concerned...'

"You're still worrying about the upcoming battle" she stated. She realized that he very well could be thinking about her, but if he actually was it would be once again the the fear of loosing her in the battle, or battles that were to come.
Meliodas reacted to her statement by sending her a small and soft smile, taking her hand and then kissing it.
"We've got Castellio, the fairies, the giants and even Melakia working with us meliodas...it'll be fine...I'll be fine" Elizabeth Todd him with a smile mirroring his own.

In the time between the treaty with the fairies and giants were made Meliodas had been working hard.
In the last stretch he had been loosing time so he sent Merlin to Castellio herself, while meliodas, upon request if Elizabeth, went to the kingdom of Melakia that was already bound to Liones by a treaty made when Elizabeth's father was still alive.

"I know I know...the brain is a funny thing tho. something inside of me thinks that...something will go wrong"

"It's called doubt, and it's dangerous. You mustn't doubt yourself or the decisions you've made Meliodas"

"I know...yeah I know..." Meliodas breathes, it was tough though, but yes he knew it's all be.....okay...

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

"Is everything ready for departure?" King asked Meliodas shortly after they'd met up. They had spent a few moments going over the plans again and now it seemed that there was nothing left but the attack.

"Just barely..." Meliodas answered solemnly.

"Barely?" King said and started skimming through the papers detailing their plans. "What's left?"

"Uh, no no. I've refrained from writing this down, let's just make a small agreement"

"Okay?"

"You leave Bellion to me. And only me. Got it?"

King was confused, he understood that there might be some underlying tension between the two regarding Bellion's attitude problems. But that was no reason to lace him to Meliodas alone.
"Why?"

"Let's just say..." Meliodas started and then turned to look at Elizabeth who stood not too far away chatting with Diane and Elaine.
"I have my reasons"

It was a bad answer that didn't leave much to the imagination, but for just a split second Meliodas left himself open for king to finally read his heart.
'Bellion he...to...Elizabeth...that bastard!'

"Yeah. He's all yours..."

I am SO sorry for this incredibly late update.
I was originally gonna start the fighting in this chapter but I've decided that it would be best to publish now so that you don't have to wait too long. That's also why the chapter is so short.
I hope you're ok with it.
