Third person POV -
"I...I can't even recognize it anymore..." Elizabeth whispered, her voice breaking. The tough warrior from before was tucked away, and out came the loving princess as she stared at her home town.
It was as if everything had lost color.Flowers outside of shops had withered, windows and doors were barricaded, and not a single citizen walked the once busy streets.
Elizabeth put a hand in front of her mouth to stop herself from letting out a broken sob, but the action itself gave it away. Meliodas knew she was hurting, so he gently turned her body so that she was facing him and brought her down into a gentle embrace.
Melissa's spend her from everyone rose so she could finally let her tears fall.
"I-...I..." Elizabeth quivered, but she just couldn't trust herself to say anything without breaking into a full on breakdown."Shhh, I know...I know" meliodas said softly as he just stroked her long silky hair and let her cry on his shoulder.
The rest of the army decided not to intervene. If she needed a few moments to take in the state if her home then they were gonna give it to her. But only a few, after all they couldn't risk being spotted if they spent too much tune in one spot.
"I-I'm Sorry..I need to pull myself together. Sorry" Elizabeth suddenly said and backed away to while her tears away.
Meliodas didn't like having to make her hide her emotions and acting tough even though she was truly breaking inside.Of course Elizabeth was quick to spot the worries look on her lovers face.
"I was just fought off guard at what I saw...I'm okay now. I know what I need to do, and I'm not doing it to look tough, I'm doing it to free my kingdom so that I'll never have to see this sight again" she gave a valid explanation, and of course even if she hadn't have meliodas would've had no choice but to still let her participate in the upcoming battle."Right" meliodas nodded.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
The plans were carefully laid out, everyone knew what they were meant to do.
And yet it was only natural to be fearful, which they were.
Very fearful.
After all there were many soldiers that only knew how to fight tear demons because meliodas and his loyal people had guided them. They had never actual been in battle with them before.
Some of the humans had in fact never been in true battle."Let's all live to meet again" king, shouted out. He was better at motivating that meliodas was so he was grateful for that.
"Now let's head on in!"And with that the army marched through the gates of liones and into town, heading straight for the castle where they assumed the real battle awaited them, but Theo grr they walked the more they got a very eerie feeling.
It was too quiet. Not a single demon, next generation or just a plain soldier had shown up. There was absolutely no sign of life if you don't regard the sound of windows and doors being closed harshly and quickly.
The civilians in their houses were surely frightened of what was to come."Halt" meliodas suddenly said and stopped.
"Meliodas?" Elizabeth leaned over to see the look on his face.
It was scrunched up, the feeling he was feeling was deadly, and dark. And yet the fact that it was so quiet made it all far to eerie."Somethings wrong"
Then suddenly, as if in cue, large earth walls shot up from the ground, affectively piercing a few, but then separating the rest.
It didn't happen all at once, one wall shot up at a time, so people began shouting, panicked and holding onto each other in hopes of not getting separated.
But of course it was out of their control.
And in the end many of the strongest were all by themselves, unable to aid those that needed it.
Even Meliodas and Elizabeth was separated, but meliodas didn't worry too much as he thought that if he could just calm down the soldiers he could just fly over to her.
But that wasn't the case..."How I've waited for this moment, Meliodas"
Meliodas momentarily stiffened before turning around, his face twisted in fury.
"Bellion..."OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
"Meliodas! Meliodas!" Elizabeth called as she stood by the wall that had separated them.
She was worried, she had her back turned when they were separated, and while her gut instinct told her that he was fine it was her job as his liver to worry about his well being."L-lady Elizabeth...I think we should worry about ourselves right no-ARGHH~" a frightened man behind her spine before he was silenced, but not before letting out a scream.
Elizabeth worried about what she Wind see when she tugged arrives, but she did so nevertheless."What good friends you all are! Giving me such wonderful hugs!!" A y'all demon spoke.
The demon looked like he was covered in metal needles."Monster..." Elizabeth muttered as she saw the impaled man slowky slide off the spikes and fall to the ground, lifeless, amongst many others.
It was just her, alone with the blood lusting demon.
Elizabeth grabbed her sword when he took one step closer."Impudent girl" the demon saud before lunging himself at her.
Elizabeth flinched as he did so, she had no idea how to fight an enemy such as this, there was no opening, no matter what she did she would surely we impaled somewhere.
'But then again, being impaled in the arm is better then bring impales in the heart' she thought and prepared for the pain.
She knew she had to take his hearts out, not kill him, but the more hearts he lost the more he would be momentarily weakened. Then the pain hit and he shot out her arm to thrust her sword into his chest.
It didn't even make it there. Halfway there her arms feet ti heavy and they fell to her side."I can't move" Elizabeth whispered.
Then she noticed, the purplish liquid dripping off of his spikes.
She then quickly determined that it was poison, and of course, it had entered her blood stream and with the adrenaline pumping it circulated through her body fast."Now you can't run from me. So where is my hugggg?" He said in such a childish manner and spread out his arms. If she was to be impales by those spikes it would definitely pierce a vital point.
It would kill her.
'But I promised him..and I keep my promises...I have to!'As pump was in range to grab her and pull her in she did the impossible.
She lifted her arm, and cut one of his off in one swing. He stumbled back, hurt and confused.
"B-but how, the poison should've paralyzed your entire body by now!""Well you see, I'm a healer so I neutralized the poison"
"No! That's impossible, Druid healing isn't powerful enough to neutralize my poison...unless..you're really her...You'RE THAT GODDESS"
Elizabeth didn't let it show by every time someone referred to her by goddess she was shocked, especially when it showed how well known she had been in her former life.
W hat she hated the most was that she was obviously strong..stronger than she were now...
'I could really use that strength right about now' she thought as Galand got ready to attack again, but even tho she had just got off his arm, his arms were not his main weapon of choice, his spikes were of course, and those spikes were thick, which meant he'd wound in her arms was big and she was loosing blood, but unlike before, right now she didn't have ti time necessary to heal herself. She felt tired. Then a crash behind her sounded, and rubble flew everywhere, so she had to duck down.
Then Plum was hit by something, and knocked unconscious, but not a piece of rubble. When Elizabeth looked up again she saw what.
"Bellion?"
