Delysha

Tuesday,

"Delysha, get ready for college I will drop you," said my mother at the kitchen counter.

"No, Mom. I am going with, Frank."

"The Smith guy?"

"Yes."

"Nice but does he know about your, you know what..."

"Does it matter?"

"No, if you don't let it."

"What are you trying to do, Mom?"

"Delysha, don't get me wrong but this is Mumbai. Just-friend-guys don't give you lift to college here, boyfriends do."

"We are just friends and if your not forgetting he lives two doors away so that should not be a problem, I guess, Bio Mother"

"Those two doors are almost a street away, which you should not forget, daughter. Well, if you have plans I don't have any problem but think before you act."

"Yes, off course. That's the only thing you didn't do 19 years, right Mom and see now, I am stuck with you," I said practically slamming the door of my room on her face.

She was quite for some minutes and then announced about her departure and Frank's arrival on the front door.

The whole afternoon I was wondering how to tell Frank about the cancer situation but couldn't.
And now, I am standing at my front door porch talking to him about tommorow.

"Is there anything you wanted to say me?" he questions.

"No, why?"

"Because, you looked distracted by something, the whole day," he explains.

"Yeah, I argued with Mom, and I guess that I told her pretty harsh things."

"....."

"Why are you quite now, Frank?"

"Nothing."

"I guess I can help you"

"It's nothing Delysha I was just wondering how strong your mother is. Like before you, we thought that she was a single woman living her life on her own terms without anyone. Then all of the sudden you appeared and she became a mother from being a loner. Just don't break her heart."

"I will try not to. But the topic of argument was you," I giggled.
And that was when the time he looked at me, his puppy like pupils, after that particular moment all I saw was Frank looking at my lips.

And in that moment I wanted him so much. I wanted to kiss him and touch his body parts with my lips.
But couldn't.... Just couldn't.

Evening,

I am in my room when the front door, unlocked. When I hear my mum voice I run out to see her face, to apologise her.
But all I see a pair of dark tranquil eyes staring at me.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

"Oh he, he is just helping me with the groceries," Mom says from the kitchen counter.
I turned to look at her shiny brown eyes and exhausted face.
The guy was now putting the plastic bags on the nearest counter to him.

"No, not there. Keep all this stuff on the dinning table, there" I instructed him pointing towards the table.

"Delysha let it be..." Mom said. Making him to stop in his path.

"Delysha, I am going out with this young man and will return soon, I guess by eight."
