Chapter 15: A year

When mom returns I and Dad have already made Chinese starters and I am chopping vegetables for the main course.
And dad is checking latest updates on his favourite NBA team.
We both hear her footsteps and look at her on the same time she is smiling as if she is in a daydream. Well that looks means that she is in a good mood.

After the dinner is ready mom helps me in serving the dishes this is the first time we are eating together, just the three of us and the regonistion this event can be felt in the air. And my parent are their best to not spoil this moment by speaking as little as they can for every conversation leads to my return to US conversation which at the moment is a turnoff for all of us.

I am talking about my plans for the weekend when my phone beeps and I see Frank on the screen. I know that he seriously wants to discuss about Bella and the night and I seriously want to avoid that the same conversation plus him. Also, I seriously am not in the right mind to talk about it. So, I just let my phone beep as long as the light dies. And ask silly questions to my parents about their life in US and those years.

After dinner I am washing dishes with Mom when we hear a knock on the door. And my father comes in with the zombie asking him about his day.
"Alisha, Em is here you go talk to him while I help Delysha."

At this Mom practically runs towards the guy, dad too notice the eargeness in Mom's moments. I am watching the two of them having hushed conversations and know that something's not right. I look at dad and he too is carrying the same expression as me. And I have a feeling that in some time everything is gonna go south and this Em guy here is a part of it.

At last getting of the trans Dad questions on what is happening and I can see that Mom face is losing colour when she declares that the as made a legal attempt of keeping me here.

Everything from that moment is blur. Dad's shout, Mom retorts, they are practically on each other and I am watching everything with blurry eyes all they care is winning me keeping me like a prized position.

And this moment I realised that I am just a award to their power fight.

I wanna run and smash their head when I shout them to stop and end up looking at those sapphire eyes looking straight at my sudden outburst. The next thing I know is am on the ground trying to stop them and the last thing I remember is my father's hands around me.

After some time everything is clam and silent when Mom requests dad to leave for tonight and dad practically stands as if would hit her but I know my father he would never do that, never in any universe would he do that. On this he walks to the door leaving me alone in this place with this strangers I don't wanna be with.

I see him walking away and the other two people standing when I start to fade.

The last thing I hear is my bio Mom's word, "All I ask for is a year Matt."
