I can't believe I just told her, she had this shocked expression on her face but at the same time, she had that smile that always seemed to warm my heart. I couldn't help stare at her bright amber eyes when she finally spoke: "So what does this mean for us?"

I really hadn't thought that far
I just wanted to be with her after so long

"You have a girlfriend you know, this feels wrong"

The thought dawned on me and I felt guilty. Jessica might not show it much but she's really sweet and nice once you get to know her we've been together over a year but she still doesn't have the place my Betsy has in my heart, I kept trying to convince myself but I can't... not anymore

Holding her hand I sigh "We don't have to date or anything I just want to spend the last week you have here with you, I want to take to some places and have fun just like we used to."
"Sorry but I've got my schedule full for this week, but Friday's good." She said.

"So can I take you somewhere on Friday?"

"Ok that's fine" she responds slightly blushing. I get up to leave, I'm already at the doorway when I say "I'll pick you up at 8?"

"Sounds great "she responds; Closing the door behind me.

Wow, Asher...Asher Barns! just told me he likes me!!! I'm freaking out.

I don't even know what to do. I pick up my phone to video call Kate and Justin.
I'm meant to be mad at them for telling Asher how I felt but I actually want to thank them.
But before I can, Mum calls me for breakfast, she looks unusually beautiful today in her short lacy white dress.

"Anywhere important you're headed? I asked filling my plate with pancakes
"Oh yes very important indeed I'll be meeting with Isabella Garcia to design her dress for her upcoming San Francisco jazz festival"

"Wow!!!" I exclaim "Congrats mum"

You're probably wondering why I'm so excited. Well, Isabella Garcia is one of the biggest songwriters and performers out here in California, having over six albums and two Grammy's as well as other awards.

"Yeah I met her during my last fashion show, she said she really liked my designs and it's exactly what she needs so she hired me on the spot."

For a lady her age, my mum looks extremely young you'd think she was my older sister, she has beautiful dark brown hair and light hazel eyes that highlight her round baby-face.

She continues "Dad's gone to pick up Tony from school today so they'll be home by 5 feel free to hang out with your friends until then."

What about Amy, who's going to stay with her? "You can drop her off at Lucia's place she's been pleading to go over anyways" with that, she finally leaves the house.

Following her advice, I change and text Kate and Justin to meet me in our favorite café.

When they arrive I usher them to come to sit with me on an empty table just around the back, I really feel like this place is home because I have had so many memories here it's hard to imagine not seeing it anymore.

After placing our orders I tell them everything that happened that morning.
"Omg Beth that's awesome and kinda sad at the same time," said Kate while Justin just smiles.
"Why don't you say anything?" I ask focusing my gaze on him. "Sorry, it's just I've never really liked Asher, he always seemed like a spoilt rich kid to me."

True Asher's family is quite rich but unlike most rich people they're really nice and generous.
Justin hasn't really been a fan of Asher unlike like the rest of the school, I feel it's cause they never really got along as kids plus Justin has always felt intimidated by Asher although he won't admit it.

"Ok fine but what do you think I should do?" taking a sip from my milkshake.

"I think you shouldn't go anywhere or do anything with..."No why would you say that? You know how much she likes him even till now...listen, Beth, I think you guys should hang out if you want". Cutting Justin off midway.
Justin doesn't say a word until we all leave the cafe.

I decided to stroll back home taking in the ocean breeze and the brilliantly red and orange sunset, thoughts popping into my head

"But I try to push them down and think of my friend date with Asher yeah it's not an actual date cause he has a girlfriend *wink* *wink*
