Bethany's POV

"Bethanyyyyy!" Amy calls from across the hall. "What is it?!" I responded getting out of bed.
I've lived in California all my life. Ive got the most annoying little sister in the world; Amy and an older brother; Tony, He's in college so he's not home much, my dad's an architect and my mum's a fashion designer. "Dad needs you she finally responded"

I'm your typical nerdy nobody in middle school but my best friends Kate and Justin kept me sane. I've had a crush on Asher barns like forever, you know that guy next door but we never seemed to hit off.
When we started high school he suddenly became hotter it was like his transition from that little boy I knew to the Asher I see now is extraordinary, it's funny how he's still pretty nice to me.

His dad and mum always tried to make us have play dates as kids which I won't deny I really liked but now we've grown apart.

Just like the usual handsome guys he's on the football team and is dating Jessica hood prettiest girl in the grade; rude and sassy, or at least that what I thought until I got to know her over the last summer when we all went for a camping trip, she could be resourceful and kind I just didn't like because she had something I wanted.

Earlier today I was walking past my parent's room when I overheard My dad and mum talking about his new job involving a move to New York!

That's like the worst thing that could happen right now. Life here isn't great but I have people here, My best friends and my other not so close friend Asher Barns.

"We've got to tell them about it soon dear," Mum said, "Tell them what?" I retorted.

I could see the shock on my parent's faces when they heard my voice.

"Get your sister, It's time we talked," Dad said.

This news is quite shocking to me I have just a week left here before I have to leave for New York. I ran to call Kate and Justin to break the news to them.

"Do you have to leave?" Kate said. "If we didn't have to you know I'd stay," I said while looking out the window just trying to wrap my head around everything.

So Kate, Justin, and I try to make plans for the entire week and I don't care for what we have planned knowing that at the end of the week my life would never be the same.

Monday morning, I wake up to the sound of Amy knocking on my room door.
That girl really drives me crazy.

"Asher wants to see you!!! Wake up!!!" frustrated and slightly flustered I get out of bed "Don't kid with me Amy" I reply.

I didn't get enough sleep last night because I kept thinking about all I'm leaving behind here.
As I got dressed I keep wandering what Asher might want, He hasn't come over in a while now and I can't help blushing, I just hope I don't make it so obvious when I'm around him.

"Hi," I said nervously, "Hey, How are you doing?" He replied sounding even more nervous than I did.

"Sorry I woke you up... I heard you were moving"

"Kate and Justin told you right?" I said, A bit furiously because I didn't want him to find out till I moved.

"Yeah...They also mentioned that you might have a crush on me"

Those sneaky little bastards, I'm so going to deal with them for this.

I was shocked to find out that they told him, A bit relieved though cause 'Why not?'. I mean I'm leaving here in a week so nothing matters anyway.

"What...No...That's crazy" Trying not to sound too obvious.

"Really? This might be a bit cliche but I think I have a confession too, I've had a crush on you for some time now, to be honest, I don't know how long. I've always felt the need to protect you and be around you but I just couldn't tell you, I didn't know how much until I started dating Jessica, she doesn't make me feel at ease like I feel around you, most times when I'm with her I just think back to all the fun we used to have. I know it sounds crazy but it's true."

"If you liked me this much why did you stop talking to me? Why did you stop coming over?" I inquired

This time, he had this sad expression on his face as he moved his hands slightly over his grizzled black hair, "It's cause I didn't know if you felt the same."
