 [her; Alex Alvarez]

It's been about a week since homecoming and Alex and I still haven't talked about what happened. It's been really awkward between us. We still talk and everything we just don't hug and cuddle as often.

It's the day before the citizen's test and we just got done eating dinner. Alex and I went to go sit on the couch when Elena said, "That's weird." Alex and I questioned her as we sat down on the couch. "Syd just sent me a text. It's the dancing girl, salmon sushi, and prayer hands." "Okay don't panic." "Why would I panic? Now I'm panicking." "Good going Papito," I told as I slapped him on the arm. He smirked at the nickname. "Relax," I told her "When you get confusing emojis, you just need to send even more confusing emojis back until someone breaks." He added. "You're in an intense game of emoji chicken." he continued.

"So should I send Syd a chicken?" she asked. "Girl, are you cray?" Alex and I both looked at her as he took her phone. "Okay, how about a ghost, a ski lift, and the Swedish flag," he said. "No, the Swiss flag," I told him he handed the phone back to Elena and we did the mind blown thing. I laughed so hard that I fell onto Alex. He looked at me and just hugged me. I smiled at him. "Okay enough you two love birds. But what does that even mean?" She told us we blushed and said "Exactly." After a while, Elena gave us a hug for helping her.

We just stayed like that, hugging, laughing, and blushing on the couch until we had to go to bed. We went to his room and awkwardly laid down. "Come here mi amor," Alex said as he brought me closer to him. I kissed his cheek and cuddled up to him. I missed these days. It's just been so awkward between us. I convinced my self to forget about it and sleep.

We were sitting down in office thing when we realize Abuelita was still looking at her guide book. "Abuelita, You're still studying? Don't you know everything by now?" Alex asked. "Of course. I'm just trying to avoid getting propositioned by all these guys." She told us. Elena explained that she should be worried. As she said that Dad came through the doors dressed in the stupidest outfit ever. "They didn't call my name yet, did they?" he asked all worriedly. "What the hell are you wearing?" Abuelita questioned him. "I'm trying to look more American. Is it not working? I should have brought a gun." i-

"Are you okay," I questioned. He immediately responded with no. "Last night, I was testing the pH levels of the water in my seahorse ranch, and, as I looked at those vomiting little guys, I realized I suck at tests. All tests. Drug, sobriety, vision, IQ, smog. You name it, I fail it!" aww poor dad.

"Relax, probecito Schneider." Abuelita started, "Look, look, look, you go in, they ask you a few questions, you come out. Fricky-fracky. American." As she said that a man came out of the room. We all noticed he was wearing handcuffs. Dad starting freaking out. I told him that he would be fine. A nice man came out calling for Abuelita. She went inside and soon after a rude woman came out calling For Dad. We all encouraged him and watched him leave. It's like watching a kindergartener going to school for the first day.
