I had walked back to the rest of Fairy Tail and sat along the edge of the railing. Awaiting the first tag team battle. Constance stood next to me.
“So, did you do it?” That sneaky little…
“Why should I tell you when you already know.” I grumbled. Constance laughed and Levy came to my other side. “I’m glad to finally have you back.” I looked up at the blue haired mage next to me.
“I’m glad to be back.” Levy hummed and began to play with my long hair.
“Alright, the first tag-team battle!” The announcers yelled. The audience erupted in a roar. “From Blue Pegasus, Ichiya and Rabbit versus Bacchus and Rocker from Quatro Puppy!”
The four walked up to eachother and exchanged a few words. “This is going to be a boring battle.” I mumbled enjoying the hands of Levy playing with my hair, how I missed her doing this. The rabbit took off the suit and it was an exceed that looked exactly like Ichiya. My eyes widened and I began to laugh hysterically before Levy tapped my head, hinting to stop being rude. “What it’s a cat version of Ichiya, who wouldn’t laugh.”
“It’s still rude.” She retorted.
“You’re still short.” I smirked and stood upright. “Shrimp.”
Levy lifted her fist and growled before hitting me in the head with a book. “Maybe that’ll teach you some manners.”
“Where the hell did you get that?!” I yelled and some members of Fairy Tail began to shrink into the corner.
“I always have a book on me.”
The sound of bodies smashing against stone took us out of our little quarrel. “Down! Quatro Puppy is down! The winner is Blue Pegasus!” The announcers roared.
“What?” I leaned over the edge and saw that it to be true. “Look Levy you made me miss the match.”
“I didn’t make you do anything.” I stuck my tongue out at her but shortly began laughing afterwards.
“Alright, onto the second match! Lyon and Yuka from Lamia Scale versus Kagura and Milliana from Mermaid Heel!”
“Wait, Lyon.” I whispered to myself. “He was a student with Gray.” I was intrigued to see how he would handle this fight.
“I hope Mermaid Heel wins.” Happy said standing next to Levy. “I’ve known Milliana since that Tower of Heaven business, see.”
“I guess I’m rooting for Lamia Scale. They’ve been a big help.” Once Levy said those words Macao went right behind her.
“Certainly, we have a history with Lamia Scale…”
Wakaba finished Macao’s sentence. “…but all of the Mermaid Heel wizards are beauties, right?” All the men lined up to take a better look at Mermaid Heel.
“You guys are disgusting, you lecherous old men!” I yelled and froze them all. “Think before you open those disgusting mouths, will ya?”
“Juvia, I guess you’re cheering for Lyon, huh?” Levy turned around to look at the sitting water mage.
Mira and Cana slid next to her, Cana teasing Juvia. “You’ve been approached by Lyon more than once, right?”
“Having a woman’s heart, you must be interested, right?” Mira chirped.
“Juvia…Juvia…” She began to stutter. “No! As a member of the guild, Juvia is a bad girl for wishing injuries on her comrades! But Juvia wants to be by Gray’s side! And yet…Juvia doesn’t want her guildmates to get hurt! What should Juvia do!?”
“Huh?” I didn’t know what to say about Juvia’s outburst.
Constance came by my side and draped an arm over my shoulder. “Don’t worry about it. She’s just a love struck girl who has these weird fantasies about Gray. Besides, hasn’t she stalked him ever since she joined the guild anyway? And if push comes to shove, you’ll kick her ass in no time and win.” Then she leaned down and whispered. “Remember, he kissed you back and not her.”
“Yeah, you’re right.” I huffed and went back to the ledge sitting on it.
The match had begun and it looked like it was just Milliana taking on Lamia Scale. Lyon had tried bringing Kagura into the match.
“Hmm, dynamic ice-make. I should try that one day.” I whispered to myself.
Suddenly, it looked like Milliana had the upper hand but Lyon created a mouse. Cats and mice, of course, as simple as it may seem. The cat of Mermaid Heel ran face first into the wall, making Kagura finally participate. She was quick, quick enough to get Yuka down in a manner of only attack. Her sight was now focused on Lyon. She quickly evaded all of his attacks and knocked him back. Yelling ensued from the stands and looking up it was Gray. He was yelling for Lyon to get his act together as he is a student of Ur, and to take Kagura out. His speech touched Lyon’s heart and he summoned multiple ice animals. Kagura quickly retaliated with Gravity Change but due to the time taking so long, it ended up in a draw. But it was still an amazing fight.
“Why don’t you watch this battle with him?” Constance asked. I was hesitant. “Just go already!” She pushed me out of the door and ushered me to where the other three Fairy Tail participants were waiting. I was allowed as technically I still participated in the tournament. I walked through the door and stood next to Gray.
“Nice speech before.”
“He was getting on my nerves.” I chuckled at Gray’s response.
“I’m sure all of our viewers have been eagerly looking forward to this battle. A fateful showdown between the guild that was called the strongest seven years ago and the strongest current guild! Fairy Tail’s Natsu and Gajeel versus Sabertooth’s Sting and Rogue! And all four of them are Dragon Slayers!”
“Sock it to ‘em!” Gray cheered for his fellow team mates.
“Get them for us, too!” Laxus added.
“I have faith you’ll win!” Erza finished up the rooting for the two.
A weird sensation had overcome me, making me look to the sky. What was that I felt just now?
Gajeel and Natsu started off the fight on the offensive. It was hit after hit, Fairy Tail was driving back Sabertooth! That was until, Sting and Rogue, unleashed the White and Shadow Drives.
“Well, this could get bad.” I whispered.
Just like that, Sabertooth took the offensive and was beating Fairy Tail.
“He marked Natsu, he can’t move, he’s lost his freedom.” I told them. I’ve seen this before. “He burned it off?!” I screeched. I pushed on Gray’s shoulders to get a better view.
“Hey what are you doing?” Gray looked up at me as I stared intently at the battle.
“Learning.” I spoke back staring at the ongoing battle at Natsu had just blocked the White Dragon Slayer’s Secret Art.
“You’re a smart girl.” Erza looked up at me and I returned her compliment with a smile.
Since Sabertooth was driven back so far at this point, they had to unleash their ultimates, the Dragon Force.
“Natsu kinda looked like that at the Tower of Heaven..” Gray stated.
“Yeah except, he gained the power by eating Etherion.” Erza added.
“Laxus, you can unleash Dragon Force at will, can’t you?” I still had to look up at the tall blonde man as he was extremely tall.
“Yeah, why?”
“I knew it! They’re third generation!” Everyone gave me inquisitive looks. “First Gen Dragon Slayers are raised by a dragon and need high amounts of Eternano to enter Dragon Force, second gen are implanted with dragon lacrima and are able to call upon the dragon force at will, third gen are both raised by dragons and are implanted with dragon lacrima. It’s the lacrima that gives them the ability to enter Dragon Force!”
Everyone finally understood as I spelt everything out. “Well, aren’t you the smart little, She-Devil.” Gray cooed trying to tease me.
“You too?” I grumbled at my nickname. “I don’t like it.”
“Nicknames such as those that symbolize strength are signs of strength and respect from others.” Erza stated, meaning that I should accept the name given to me as it signifies that I am strong.
Sting had challenged Fairy Tail to a one on two battle and by the looks of it, Sting was beating us. He had pummeled Gajeel and Natsu and rose to the skies to unleash his Holy Breath of the White Dragon. The blast was huge and caused a crater to open up in the center of the arena. The battle was going on under the arena and we had to watch on Lacrima. These things were too slow to keep up what was really going on. Sting let loose another Holy Ray at close range and it shot Natsu and Gajeel back. Sting…was winning. Neither of them was moving.
C’mon you guys get up. Get up. Get up.
“C’mon Flame Brain, Iron Head, hear us!” I screamed. They needed to hear our voices, our thoughts, that’s what brings Fairy Tail as one. We are all one and can overcome any obstacle thrown at us.
After a few moments, Natsu began to stand. “Don’t get hasty.” Gajeel stood up with him too.
“Yes, they got up!” I cheered and hugged Gray. After a moment, I realized what I was doing. “Ah! Sorry!” I jumped away and crossed my arms, a blush on my cheeks. After a moment, I looked at the lacrima just in time to see Gajeel rolling off into a cart. “What?! Natsu, you idiot you really are a flame brain!” He’s taking on Sting and Rogue alone.
The Fire Dragon Slayer made me eat those words as he began beating Sting and Rogue, even in Dragon Force mode. The Twin Dragons used their Unison Raid. Everything had become silent waiting for see who was still standing. And that’s when we all felt it. Eachother’s hopes, thoughts, voices, we all raised our right arms, index and thumbs out.
Natsu felt it and was able to overcome Sting and Rogue. He had won! Natsu won!
I leaped into Gray’s arms and wrapped my arms around his neck, proud that our team is now officially in first place. I realized my actions again and went to move way but Gray wrapped his arms around my waist, keeping me still.
“They did it!” I said smiling happily at Gray.
“We’re finally in first place.” He returned the smile.
Constance was watching us from the distance with Macao. “It’s been forever since I’ve seen her smile. Ever since they left us.”
“Looks like Gray was able to replace that loneliness in her heart.” Macao added.
Gray quickly kissed my lips gently, slowly pulled away, and gave me a gently smile. I blushed a deep crimson before leaping from arms, trying to hide my flustering face which had caused the other wizards in the area to chuckle at my embarrassed state.
