Seven long years have passed. Romeo was at the edge of the dock looking out into the water, hoping that one day his friends, his family, will come back. At the corner of his eye, he saw a woman with teal hair and golden eyes, dressed in a long yellow sweatshirt with black leggings, and heels begin to walk towards the water. The second her foot touched the liquid, it instantly solidified into ice and she created a trail into the middle of the water. He stared at the woman, knowing full well who she was and the troubles she has gone through. Her eyes were filled with sadness, a hand to her chest, a look of longing on her face, to see her family come back. She believed too, just like him. That’s what they all wanted, but for some it seemed harder than others. The woman turned her head to look at Romeo and she gave a faint smile with a small wave of her hand. Romeo returned the gesture, not wanting to be rude. A voice came from the distance and another woman, with pink eyes and purple hair, slid across the ice to meet the teal haired one. They began conversing but Romeo was unable to hear due to the distance. The first woman, heaved a large sigh, and began to walk back to land, the other following behind. Romeo could only assume that it was a mission of some sort. He did know one thing, those two women are the strongest that Fairy Tail currently has. But, they are always away on missions, trying to keep Fairy Tail afloat. If only the others were back. If the others never disappeared, Fairy Tail wouldn’t be as broken as it was now, and they would still be alive. The burden of their deaths wouldn’t be on those two women. If only.

My feet glided me to the water’s edge. It was so serene and peaceful. As I got closer and put my foot out to touch the water, it instantly turned to ice. I took another step, ice began forming under my feet as I walked out into the middle of the body of water. Looking out to the never ending mass of water, I raised a hand to my chest, lingering it over my heart as it ached. I know they’re still alive, but why won’t they come back. I felt a pair of eyes staring at me and turned to look in that direction. There was Romeo, it felt the pain too. I raised my hand to wave at the young boy and he returned the gesture.
“Oi!” A voice came from behind. Looking back it was Constance. She was partner. We were once part of a mini group inside of Fairy Tail, Nexus, we called ourselves but there was two others. They had lost their lives years ago. It was our job now to carry on their dreams. As I was lost in my thoughts, Constance began speaking.
“We have a mission. It’s pretty far away so we have to get going now.” She said. I heaved a heavy sigh that racked my body and let out it out, and slowing began walking back to land.
“Where are we going?” I inquired as we began our walk to the train station.
“Iceberg.”
“At least I can eat there.”
“Now don’t go overboard.”
“I’m not a glutton like you.” I retorted, as Constance heaved a sigh in defeat as she knew I was right. We had to board several trains and pass through Seven to get to Iceberg. “So what is this mission anyway?” I asked as we boarded the trian. Constance had purchased the tickets before fetching me.
“Some S-Class mission.’
“You mean the only S-Class Mission.”
“Well…”
“Constance.”
“Okay, it’s investigating a new dark guild that has been going and murdering people, apparently they think they are doing this as a way to get closer to Zeref.”
“So they are more like a cult worshipping Zeref than an actual guild?”
“Not necessarily.” I tilted my head in confusing. “They try to use death magic but end up failing and using their own to murder. So we have to incapacitate them so the Magic Council can put them away.”
“And why is this S-Class?”
“They’ve killed off two villages already and obliterate any wizard that comes into the vicinity of their headquarters.”
“So they are also nomads. Kill one village move to the next. Did it say what their motives are besides from thinking that they will reach a higher calling if they continue to murder?”
“That’s it.” Constance finished our conversation.
This is all too strange. Murdering people, attempting to use death magic, all to get closer to Zeref. Sounds more like they want to surpass Zeref and his wickedness. They want to be the next Zeref. But, they are far from that monster. That monster created demons.
“Hey Constance.” My partner drew her attention from the window and looked in my direction. “Wake me up when we have to switch trains.” She gave me a wary look but nodded none the less.
I flattened my back against the seat and brought my legs up, crossing them underneath myself. Meditation, I needed to think some things through on this. I had trapped my consciousness within the depths of my mind. Soon, pictures began to encircle me and voices reverberated against the invisible walls of my mind.

“But Levy!” My younger voice called.
“Don’t worry, Nora! They will love you here, I promise.” Levy had placed her hand on my tiny shoulder as she pushed open the doors to the guild hall.
“Hi Levy!” Two men ran up to Levy to greet her. It was a little strange. They blinked a few times and stared at me holding Levy’s hand.
“Jet, Droy, this is Nora, she’s my cousin. Nora, that one is Jet and that’s Droy.” I hid behind my cousin, not sure of what to think of all these people.
“Hey Levy!” Another voice called, it was a blonde female. “Oh, who’s this?”
“This is Nora, and soon to be a member of Fairy Tail!” Levy was so proud, she was showing me off. Why? I don’t know any magic, so what use would I be?
“Nice to meet you, Nora!” I lowered my head as I couldn’t hide behind Levy any longer.
“She’s shy. Hey, do you know where Master is?”
“At the bar.”
“Of course. C’mon Nora.” Levy guided to the bar where a tiny old man was talking to a pretty white haired lady. “Master, this is Nora, she would like to join Fairy Tail!”
“Oh? Is that so?” The old man jumped down from his bar stool and placed on a large smile. I nodded a yes slowly. “Aw, no need to be shy! Come child, do you know magic?” I slowly shook my head no. “That’s not a problem, we will teach you, after all we are a family here at Fairy Tail. Mira can you do the honors?”
“Of course, Master!” Mira came over with a large stamp. “Okay, where would you like your guild mark?” I pointed to my left shoulder. One, two, three I was officially a member of Fairy Tail. “Welcome to Fairy Tail, Nora!”
“Nora!”

I slowly opened my eyes, knowing that Constance was not part of that memory. “Switching trains already?” I asked as I slowly stretched.
“Yeah, you went to see her again didn’t you? Levy, I mean.” Constance walked off the train and was leading me to the second as last train we would be boarding to get to Iceberg as we were currently in Seven.
“Yeah, when I joined the guild.” I sat down again about to go into meditation once more.
“I wish I met them all. Sucks that I joined after. Hey wait!” Constance stopped me from closing my eyes. “Maybe you shouldn’t keep going and looking back. I mean, I don’t want you to relive that moment.” The woman sat across from me was no longer her chipper self. Her eyes darkened in sadness as her fingers brushed against the scar that mauled her face. “When you go there and leave me alone that’s all I can think about. It’s all what ifs and I’m scared.” Constance was breaking down in front of me.
“Constance.” I placed a hand on her shoulder. “I guess you’re right. It’s time to stop living in the past. They gave us this power to live in the future, there’s no reason to keep thinking of such depressing times.” I smiled genuinely at her to ease her troubled mind. “Now you get some sleep. I’ll wake you up when we get to there.” She nodded at me and closed her eyes. After I knew she was asleep I began thinking out loud. “Why did you guys leave us?” I put one hand out and clenched it into a fist. Smoke began to come from my closed fist as my hand was extremely cold and I released the tight grip. There in my hand was the Fairy Tail emblem. “I remember when you taught me this.”

“You’re getting better, but looks like your sense of control is a little…off.” I was helping Gray and Loke with their training for the S-Class Trial. Right now, Loke was wedged in between several spikes. He was able to get out but he should have never been in that situation. Gray sat down in front of me and placed a hand on my head, easing my anxiousness. “Watch.” He instructed sternly but not too harsh. I studied his features and his movements has he placed one hand in the other. Smoke began to escape from the tiny seams between his fingers and as he opened his hands, the Fairy Tail Emblem rested in his palm.
“That’s awesome!” I cheered and grasped it gently between my fingers.
“You can do that with one hand, but it won’t be as stable. Now give it a try.”
I placed my hands exactly how Gray had his and thought and concentrated on what I wanted to create, which was the guild emblem. I felt something there and as I opened my hands, there was the guild emblem, but a little misshaped.
“Alright, now it’s control. Getting all of the points right, getting it smooth on the edges. You work on that while Loke and I work on hand to hand.” I nodded eagerly.
“I got this!” I whispered to myself and proceeded to morph the ice in between my hands to look at perfectly as Gray’s. “I’ll make you proud that I am your student.”

If only Gray could see me now, he would be proud.
