Ⓣori woke up to the blinding light that was being projected into her room by a nurse who was opening the blinds.
"What the hell?" she said pulling her blanket over her head.
"Goodmorning Tori, I'm going to need to check you blood pressure, and heart rate."
The nurse did.
Shortly after her mother walked into the room, "Hi sweetie." she sipped on which was probably her 5th cup of coffee.
"Hi mom. Can I please have my phone back?"
"Tori."
"Mom please please please pleaseeee?"
"Alright alright."
"Thank you." she said grabbing it out of her mothers hand.
She had 3 missed calls from Austin, and 4 unread texts from Lacey.
She quickly slide her phone typing in her code opening the texts from Lacey.
Hi babez sorry I didn't text you. I heard you're awake I was worried. Call me(:
Tori, just checking in are you okay?
Thinking about you, and apparently so is Austin, he keeps talking to me about you.
I LOVE YOU T-Swizzle
Tori laughed shooting Lacey back a text.
I'm fine you dork! I know Austin been acting strange. See me soon. I LOVE YOU TOO!
Her father walked in shortly after, and a team of medical doctors.
"What's going on?"
"Tori," a male doctor said looking her in the eyes.
"You have Leukemia."
"What are you talking about? I can't have leukemia, I probably just had nothing to eat."
Her mom and father started to cry, holding each other close.
"I'm sorry Victoria."
she slowly started to absorb it getting angry, "Can everyone please get out and leave me alone?" she held in her tears.
"Tori." he dad stepped near her.
"Don't touch me, just everyone get out please."
"Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald I can tell you a little more about your daughters situation out in the hallway."
Her parents frowned and left Tori alone, as they were leaving in walked Austin.
"Austin, she wants everyone to-"
"He can stay."
Austin closed the door.
Tears started to just pour from Tori's face.
Austin ran to her side, "Tori please don't cry."
He set the bag of her work down next to her.
"Karma, that's what this is."
"What exactly is this?"
"I have cancer. Luekemia, if we want to be specific." she looked away.
He titled her chin back to face her.
She took his hand away, "Don't. You know what, I think I should get some rest, so if you could please leave."
"Tori."
"Please." she started to cry.
"Victoria I'm not leaving you." He pulled her into his chest, as she started crying harder. He kissed her forehead.
