The next day at school, I waited for Ryan to pick me up by bike in front of my lawn. I was confused when he didn't come to pick me up.. maybe he forgot?
My dad slept in again, so I had to walk to school. It started to rain right while I was walking to school.
JUST my luck.
I arrived to school late, getting in trouble. After first period, I stormed to my locker, still with wet rain staines on my shirt. I grabbed my math books for next period and started to walk down the halls to my class.
Ryan put his hands on my shoulders, stopping me dead in my tracks. "Brooklyn!- Dude i'm so sorry I couldn't pick you up." He apologized, of course wearing non-wet clothes. He didn't ride in the rain.
"That's oka-" "Sarah wanted me to pick her up today." He interrupted. I froze. "Anyways, I'll catch up with you later." Ryan walked off, like it was absolutely nothing!
Jerk! He's such a jerk jerk JERK.
I felt the need to cry, but why? I couldn't accept myself to be jealous of some girl Ryan talked to. It was just.. Ryan payed so much attention to Sarah now that she's here.
I'm overreacting!
In mathematics class I couldn't stop thinking about Sarah kissing Ryan. Did Ryan like her? Are my feelings for nothing? I don't have feelings for him, right? I was so confused..
"Brooklyn!" The teacher yelled. "Stop daydreaming!"
I heard the giggles echo in the class. I sighed, looking up at the board. I'm making a fool of myself. I kept thinking of him. What's wrong with me?
Maybe I DO like Ryan.
At lunch, I didn't bother to even sit at Ryan's table. I couldn't stand seeing some stupid girl flirt around with Ryan. I admit, I AM jealous. Doesn't mean for sure I like Ryan, and he TOTALLY doesn't like me even if I DID like him. I sat in the library for lunch, reading a simple book and eating some plain Greek yogurt.
All of a sudden, a girl sat next to me. She was my height, light brown hair and brown eyes. Her curly hair was kept in with some hair clips.
She looked over at the book I was reading, then at my blue eyes. "What book are you reading?" She questioned. "Uh, The Curse Of The Red Bird?" The girl smiled. "Ohh, you like thriller? Spicy. My name's Adrianna, who are you?"I smiled at Adrianna. "My name's Brooklyn. Brook for short."
"Why do you seem so down, Brook?" Adrianna questioned again. "Boy problems."
I answered. Adrianna's face lit up. "Who's the lucky lad??" "Nobody- at least nobody I feel comfortable telling you." Adrianna groaned. "Fine, fine."Adrianna seemed nice, she even had some classes with me. Another friend. At least one that's not a boy, great. I separated from Adrianna when her parents picked her up. I walked over past the bikes, but Ryan caught up on his bike. "Are you getting on?" He asked. "What about Sarah?" "Her parents picked her up." I sharply inhaled. "Why do you care about picking me up NOW?" Ryan seemed confused.. "Stop bring to stubborn, hop on Princess."
My face turned pink as I let out a small laugh.
Princess. I like that.
I hopped on the bike, holding on to his waist. Tighter than usual, somehow. He wore a warm coat, and the smell of cologne filled my senses.
The thought of Sarah ruined that. Ryan was simply being a gentleman, not flirting with me.
