We rode past the neighborhood. "Ryan, we just passed the neighborhood." I pointed out.
"I know." Ryan said casually. "Where are we going?" "A cafe, to say sorry about this morning."

I smiled, forgiving his actions. He was riding to a cafe, how could I not forgive him? It took only 10 minutes before we reached a nearby cafe. My father didn't know I was here, but not like he would care anyways.

Minnie's Cafe | 4:00PM

We locked the bike on a pole, then walked inside together. It's funny, because even though it wasn't a date, it felt like it to me. We sat down on a two person table inside by the window. "A cherry smoothie, please." He asked as the waiter came by our table. "Uh- strawberry smoothie for me." I chose.

The waiter nodded, putting in our order. "Do you even have enough money?" I asked, turning to Ryan. The smoothies cost $12.20 in all. Ryan laughed. "Yeah, of course."

We enjoyed our drinks as soon as they came. But the bell on the door rung when it opened. It was Sarah. Did she really follow us here? Sarah looked around the cafe, wearing a mini skirt and revealing top. Sarah sported Ryan first. "Oh my god, Ryan babyy." She called out.

Oh. My. God.

Ryan looked up, not looking into my eyes any longer. He looked at Sarah, standing up to hug her. "Hey babe." He called out to her as they hugged and kissed in the cafe. "Y- your DATING her?" I asked, shocked. Ryan looked over to me. "Yeah, we started to date a day ago. Why?" I stared into his eyes as he stared at mine. Did he not look at me the same anymore? Am I just his average friend?

Sarah interrupted before I could say anything. "Babe, I've been having some stomach problems.. it hurts really bad." Ryan kissed her on the lips again, holding her close. "Brooklyn, can you walk home? I need to hurry and get Sarah to my house. Her stomach hurts." My smile seemed dull. "I don't mind."

If only he held me like that.

I pushed my smoothie away as I peered out the window, seeing them ride the bike together.

I cried all the way home, some cars might have looked at me but I was so hurt. I really do like Ryan. But he could never love a red head from Florida. Never me. After 20 minutes of crying and walking, I walked past Ryans house. From the window I could see them kissing and hugging.

I walked into my house, my father sleeping on the couch. The sun was already setting and I suppose Sarah slept with Ryan. I tried to think about getting over Ryan through the night, but nothing worked. I only stared at my light blue walls throughout the night. I cried.

I woke up late, school had already started.
I ran downstairs, only wearing simple jeans and a cropped white shirt. I had no time for breakfast. There was a note by the door before I opened it.

' Have a fun time at school today! I'm at my new job for the interview this morning! xoxo '

I ran out the door, my bag hanging from my arms. Ryan probably rode his girlfriend to school instead of me, the one who took a large fall on a bike just a few days ago!

A car drove past me as I ran down the street. It was- Adrianna! She was a sophomore that already had her drivers license. "Come inside!" She called out. I got inside the car. Only a few empty alcohol bottles lay under the seats, and it smelt like fresh mint. "Your so late." She said, speeding slightly to get to school faster.

"Your late too!" I pointed out. "Yeah, yeah whatever. Let's just hurry!"

Adrianna only shared French class with me.
French consisted of freshmen and sophomores.

I went to math class, since I missed first period. Adrianna went to her sophomore hall. Ryan was getting on my nerves, but not just him, it was SARAH. I was convinced that she was just using him. She wanted to make me feel bad. Her smile is evil.

I hate Texas!

Even though Ryan aggravated me, I couldn't get over him. He was still kind, but it seemed he didn't know how I felt about him. For sure he wasn't into me. The end of the day I drove with Adrianna. She dropped me off near the front of the neighborhood. The rest of the way I walked.

I went over to the park, scrolling through my phone as I sat down on the bench. I heard footsteps seconds later as I looked up to see Ryan standing before me. "Hey Brook." He smiled.

"What do you want?" I sighed. Ryan got off his bike, coming in front of me. "Do you maybe want to ride in the forest tonight?.." "I- okay.."

At least I could spend some time with him.
