(Overhaul's POV)
What has she done to me? I've gone soft for this girl... I always seen this place as unfit for a female but she doesn't think so. Why is she so calm? So kind and unbothered? There's no space for affection here, my goal is almost complete. This whole country will know of the Shie Hassaikai and we will be respected, feared, we will take control of everything piece by piece... and (Y/n) will be part of the process. When I think of these plans, my chest becomes tight, it makes me uneasy yet excited. It's disgusting and it's holding me back. (Y/n) can handle everything herself, but why do I feel like she needs to be protected? It's surely a different kind of protection compared to Eri. Surely, it will go away soon.
"The heroes have gathered early this morning, the police are also buzzing around, which has been worse than usual. Boss, I think they're gotten the wind of this place."
"They're here? Let's proceed with the plan. Get ready." If those pests have already started their worthless rampage, then I'd better get ready to put them in their place, cure them, they're all sick.
"Yes sir!"
I walk to the door and slide it open, this needs to be quick.
"Where are you going?" I turn to face my underling.
"I've got something to attend to. I'll catch up, proceed with the plan. Don't fail me." I walk out.
I make my way down the empty halls, it's nice to see my people doing orders. I walk inside the small room and slide the door closed, walking up to the bedridden old man.
"Sorry, pops. Things are about to get messy, but I'll come out victorious in the end, just watch me proudly."
(Y/n)'s POV
You sit in a small kitchen, it isn't much but you're just having a small snack, you slip some chips into your pocket so you can give them to Eri.
You throw away your trash, you suddenly become startled when you feel somebody hug you from behind.
"(Y/n)-chan! We missed you! We figured you'd be here!" You heard the familiar voice, you pulled back and saw Toga and Twice.
"What are you guys doing here?" You asked surprised, you didn't expect them to show up out of the blue.
"We've been summoned to do our jobs! We've come to save you!" Twice holds out his arms with joy.
"Tomura-kun hasn't been his best since you left, it's creepy. Are you coming with us?" Toga held her hands behind her back in curiosity.
"Nah, Ka- I mean, Overhaul, will meet up with me shortly. I have my own work to do." You waved them off, they waved back and left the room.
"I wonder what's happening. Maybe training?" You questioned yourself but shrugged it off shortly after.
You walked down to Eri's room, she jumped up when you entered.
"Somebody's happy to see me. That's a first." You giggled and pulled out a bag of chips infront of her, opening them. Her eyes glistened at the sight, she just got done giving blood so it'd be nice to give her something to restore herself.
"Here ya go, they're yummy!" You smiled and gave her the bag.
You were glad that you've gained the young girl's trust but it still made you hurt when she had to stay at a place like this. She deserved to be out living her life to the fullest but instead, she was here. You were with Kai, but you always thought that Eri needed a better background to thrive in. Even if that meant going against him for it just once, no matter how much it hurt your feelings.
A rumble like feeling shakes the room around you and Eri. You look around the room, unsure of what's happening. You pull Eri close and rest your hand on her head.
"An earthquake? No, it would have been a stronger force if that. What's happening?" Thoughts began to race your mind until the door opened.
"Kai?" You looked over to him and Kurono and release Eri, walking to them.
"We're going, let's go." He grabs your wrist and walks out, leaving Kurono to pick up Eri.
You followed him down the long endless tunnels, Kai still having a tight hold on your wrist, but not tight enough to hurt you. You felt flustered when his grip slowly slipped to your hand, you mustered up courage to speak.
"W-What's going on?"
"The heroes have invaded, we're getting your bag since it has your creations and we're leaving. We have another location, so this place isn't much of a concern. With my finished product and serum along with your creations, we can rebuild our status." He opens a door and grabs your bag, making sure your things are inside then hands it to you. You felt a bit of disappointment when he released your hand but you'd get over it.
You passed by Toga and Twice as they leaned against the wall.
"You two, take care of business." Kai stated.
"Okay~" Toga purred.
"You can count on us!" Twice gave a thumbs up.
You watched them slowly fade behind you as you continued forward, still unaware of what was ahead of you.
