After that fateful night, everything was ruined. The tension in the atmosphere was so thick in the hideout, it could be cut with a knife. You'd expect a pool of blood from the constant scratching Shigaraki had done to his neck. Toga was bummed out, more than usual. Kurogiri and Dabi didn't give it much notice. Twice felt nothing but guilt, he felt responsible for the death of his teammate and the loss of Compress's arm but nobody would give his pleas any attention. Compress was better but him as well as you couldn't use your quirks. Was it permanent? Would they come back? If so, when?
You sat down in your lab, staring intensely at the used bullet on your work space and the Shie Hassaikai business card. If there was a bullet to nullify a quirk, there had to be an antidote. Sadly, you'd have to work on that after school. It was too risky to work on something like that at UA.
Changed into your uniform, you emptied the pockets of your lab coat to rid all evidence of what happened that night. As much as you wanted to take the day off and work on an antidote, you knew Shigaraki or Kurogiri wouldn't let you. You were their only chance at getting good dirt on All Might or any good hero for that matter since you spend around seven to eight hours in a building full of them almost everyday.
You slipped on your lab coat and grabbed your school bag, making yourself look decent while getting ready. Your hair was frazzled and eyes bloodshot, you haven't showered in a while and you refused to use the shower at the hideout. It was old and crawling with bugs. If you didn't care about your physical appearance, somebody could mistake you for Aizawa with your tired look and messy hair.
You walked out of your lab and locked the door, making your way to the main entrance.
"Have fun, (Y/n)-chan!" Toga squealed, you chuckled and waved then left.
"What did you idiots do to that girl? She looks awful." Dabi sighed, shaking his head.
"She's working very hard for us, I wouldn't blame her." Kurogiri admitted.
"She can take care of her own damn self." Shigaraki hissed.
"She does need a make-over." Toga hummed, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.
It wasn't long until you arrived at school, you did your normal morning routine and made way to your lab, greeting some students along the way. Some students looked like they've seen a ghost when they saw you, you felt bad for yourself pretty fast.
Once you walked in the lab, you closed the door and took out a sheet of paper and started scribbling on it.
"OUT OF SERVICE, COME AGAIN TOMORROW!"
You took some tape and slapped the paper on the door of your lab then closed the door, disappointed that it didn't have a lock for extra measure. You knew you'd have to work even harder after school so you didn't waste time to take a nap right in that room. Classes could wait, you were in desperate need of sleep, you were in desperate need of everything a human being needed.
You slid some books onto the floor and crawled onto the table, using your bag as a pillow. You were not ashamed one bit, when you were truly desperate for something, nothing held you back.
You slept for hours, ignoring each bell that rang. You were rudely awaken when somebody ran inside the room and started being really loud.
"WHAT'S ROCKIN, (L/N)!?" Present Mic shouted, sliding into the room on his knees as he played an invisible guitar.
"Loud!" You screeched, half asleep, sitting up as you were ripped away from the clutches of slumber.
"Good afternoon, Young (L/n)." All Might said, walking inside.
"Present Mic? All Might? What are you guys doing in here?" You quickly slid off the table, startled by the sudden appearance.
"Some of your classmates reported that you weren't in class at all, yo!" Present Mic said, throwing peace signs.
"Just checking in, it's lunchtime, you know." All Might said, looking at the clock.
Now that you think about it, you were starving. You hadn't eaten in a while and the devouring feeling of starvation was eating you alive.
Without a moments hesitation, you rushed out the room, almost knocking Present Mic off his feet.
"That was crazy!" Present Mic shouted, looking down the hall to see where you went.
"Poor girl, she works herself to death sometimes." All Might sighed.
You got a full plate of curry and a giant bowl of soba and you ate. Kirishima and Tetsutetsu watched in defeat, you ate faster than they ever could. Once you finished, you put away your dishes then went back to your lab, dismissing any form of social interaction.
After lunch, you slept even longer. You felt replenished when you woke up and it felt amazing. You didn't notice you slept throughout the entire school day until Aizawa walked in with a stack of books.
You weren't bothered when he saw you laying on the table, you thought it was kinda funny. You both slept during class and the comparison was humorous. You sat up and got down from the table.
"What brings you here, Mr. Aizawa?" You rubbed the sleep from your eyes, stretching your arms out.
"I was about to leave until Hatsume said that you missed every single class." He said, gritting his teeth.
He dropped a stack of books on the table, a few books having a few sheets of paper sticking out from the pages.
"That's all your work, it's expected to be completely finished by tomorrow." He demanded.
"Yes, sir." You sighed and stuffed the books inside your bag.
"I know sleep is great, but please get some at home. You don't want to be down the path that I'm on, trust me." He chuckled, leaving the room.
You grabbed your bag and left the school, rushing home. Homework could wait, you had to get an antidote done.
