This is a picture of Dounia without her hijab.

"First day of school! Wake up! Come on. First day of school"

- Finding Nemo

--------------------------------------------------------

I heard my name being yelled by a high voice.

"Dounia! Wake up and wake your brothers up too!" My mother yelled.

I got up after she yelled my name three more times. I put my bunny slippers on and went to my older brothers room with my eyes still half-closed.

I went to Soufian's bed and jumped on him.

"I'm not going to get off you til I see that you have opened your eyes." I told him sleepy.

After I punched him (soft) a few times he opened his eyes.

One more to go.

"I have already opened my eyes. You don't have to jump on me. Do you want to break my bones?" Ayoub jumped out of his bed with fear in his eyes.

So dramatic.

I left the room and went to my room.

Kids are so cute when they're asleep. Oh great, now I sound like a creep.

I got in his bed with him.

"Goodmorning, angel. Can you open your eyes for me?"

He opened his eyes slowly. I picked him up and he hugged me. I brought him to the bathroom and washed his face. (He showered last night.)

I took his hand and knocked on their door.

"Wake up! You know what I will do to you if you don't get up!" I have woken them up in a lot of creative ways.

"We're changing." Ayoub said.

I put Mo on his bed with one of his toys while I was chosing out his outfit.

It is a hot day so I chose a white shirt with a big sun and jean shorts.

"Okay, buddy you're ready for school. Go to mommy."

He jumped off his bed and left the room.

I got ready and picked a black shirt, black jeans, black boots and a kimono. I looked like I was going to a funural instead of school. Perfect because school killed my free time.

I looked in the mirror while I was putting on my red hijab.

"You can do this. It doesn't matter that you don't know anybody in that school. You're beautiful and smart. And are going to make a lot of friends."

"You know that you're talking to yourself, right?" Souf said leaning against my door.

"You don't do that? Are you crazy." I told him acting like I was surprised.
