When I write this, I can already see that I write Tom differently from how I would prefer to in my head but I try to do it as I interpret him from canon. In Halfblood Prince, Slughorn says that Tom was 'quiet', 'obedient', 'brilliant' and 'if there ever was a monster inside, it was hidden deep within'. His character is cold and demeaning but he mostly hides that with his 'persuasive charms'. Tom Marvolo Riddle is - at least on the outside - quiet, intelligent, and a teacher's pet.
