Sophie woke up in a white bed, and around her were all of her friends and Alden, with worried expressions on their faces.
"Hey, look, the princess is finally awake!" Keefe joked. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, Sophie. What happened?" Fitz asked, looking his beautiful teal eyes looking concerned. "You were passed out when you arrived here."
"T-there was a hand, a gloved hand. It grabbed me and tried to pull me into the portal it came from. I inflicted on it, and I think I used too much of my energy, that's probably why I passed out." Sophie informed them of what she recalled of the incident.
"Was there anything on the glove, Sophie?" asked Alden, leaning forward. "A symbol, a pattern, anything?"
Sophie thought for a minute, and then she replied, "No, not that I remember."
Alden sighed, and then he said, "Okay, I'll inform the council of what happened tonight. In the meantime, if you're feeling up to it, you guys can continue with your sleepover. There's no reason to worry. We won't let anything happen to you." Then he left the room.
"Do you think it was Neverseen?" Biana asked.
"I don't know." Sophie responded. "It might be a new enemy, for all I know!"
"Well, let's hope it's not." said Dex. "Fighting the Neverseen is hard enough as it is. I don't know if I could handle another enemy."
"Guys, so much negative feelings." Keefe rubbed his arms in an attempt to keep warm. "It feels freezing to an Empath, you know. Also, let's cheer up a bit. Actually enjoy the sleepover! We came here for a reason, you know. To have fun!"
Sophie's friends looked at her, waiting for approval. "Are you up to it?" asked Biana.
Sophie thought for a minute, and then said, "Yeah, let's do it."
