Sunlight had just started to peek into the room, casting shadows on the wall from the curtains that hang in front of the window. Rain drummed melodically against the roof. The wind blew, trees and tall grasses swaying softly to add more noise to the already soothing ambiance. A sun storm had started.

Shane rose his head from where it was nestled in Ryan's neck and looked out the window. He smiled softly at the beautiful sight. A stunning sunrise with hazy gray clouds and rain covering it. The dark of the room coupled with the warmth of his bed and the sound of the rain brought back his exhaustion, and then he realized it was only 4 am. He laid his head back down, pulling Ryan more against his chest as he snuggled his head into his lover, before being lulled back to rest.

He woke up a few hours later, noticing the man beside him missing. He slowly rose from the bed, messing with his hair before stretching. It was still raining but the sun had gone now, the room was dark but not in a bad way, it was peaceful. He made his way into the kitchen, where soft music was playing.

Shane stood in the doorway and watched Ryan sing quietly to the music while he was cooking, a small smile crossing his face. He strode across the space between them, his hands coming to rest on his husbands hips. "Morning love." He mumbled softly, his voice rougher than normal since he had just woken up. Ryan looked up at him, smiling. Shane loved how he looked at him, it was so gentle and loving, it was almost overwhelming.

"Morning Big guy." Ryan said softly, moving the food off the stove and turning to face him. "I haven't actually started the food yet so we can dance a little if you'd like." Often in the mornings or late at night they'd just quietly dance in the house together, holding each other and just being together. Shane nodded and turned up the music, moving away from the stove and taking Ryan with him.

"I have an idea." Shane took him outside into the rain, which had slowed but was still coming down at a good pace.

"It's so pretty." Ryan said lightly, gazing off at the woods with the small bit of sun peeking through. The window was open and the music flowed out of it, reaching their ears at a soft pace. The two of them stood together in the rain, swaying softly to the beat of the music and singing the lyrics when they knew them. It was calm and sweet and Shane wouldn't trade any of this for the world. He was dancing in the rain with the love of his life and he couldn't be happier.

"Hey ry?" Ryan looked up at him with so much love in his gaze it clenched Shane's heart.

"Yeah?"

"I love you, so much." He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. The two of them stood there, locked in a chaste kiss as the rain started to clear and a rainbow formed nearby. Ryan was the first to notice and pulled away.

"Look!" He pointed happily. "It's for us!" The two of them laughed and went back inside, quite soaked. Shane got them towels while Ryan went back to cooking for the two of them. Shane settled down on the counter, watching his husband silently. The house was mostly quiet, remaining rain dripping from the roof and the occasional louder note on one of the songs. Shane couldn't wait till the day when they weren't the only two in the home.

Ryan was done cooking soon enough and Shane got his own share, settling down at the table to eat. Sunlight shined into the window and left the area they sat in warm from its rays. Shane almost felt like nature was blessing them, especially since he could still see the rainbow outside the window. He couldn't keep the thought out of his head, an extra body sitting here at the table with them. Another person who they could take care of, who could dance in the rain with them, who would be theirs.

"Hey Ry?" Shane set down his fork to get his attention. Ryan quickly finished his bite and also set down his utensils.

"What's up?"

"When can we get a kid?" Ryan choked on air and regarded Shane with a odd look.

"You want a kid?" Shane's heart dropped slightly and he began to backtrack.

"We don't have to if you don't want- I know kids are a big step and a lot of work and-" he was cut off by a gentle kiss to his head as Ryan walked to the kitchen to put his plate away.

"Let's have a kid. The household is feeling too empty anyways." At this their cat meowed as if in protest and Shane reached down to pet him, a large grin on his face.

"Really?"

"Of course." Ryan said from the kitchen, washing off his plate as Shane brought his own in. "If you're ready then so am I, we're in this together." He watched the man spin the wedding ring on his finger and he was filled with euphoria and happiness once again. He couldn't believe his life, it was all he ever wanted. He pulled Ryan into another hug, holding the man tight to him and resting his head near his ear.

"Thank you. You're perfect and I couldn't be any more lucky."
