Shane and Ryan one shots

Chapter 8: Carnival

The aroma of food was so strong it was the only thing you could smell. Vibrant lights brightly flashed as the rusty mechanical sounds of the machines could be heard throughout the fantasy land. Loud music played and small parts of others conversations could be made out around them. The Ferris wheel stood as the centerpiece in the fairgrounds, towering over everything around it in the same magical way a castle towers over a kingdom. Occasionally, screams could be heard from some of the rides around them, full of joy and fear at the exact same time. People laughed and talked and sang along to the music. It was the perfect place for this group of 7 to be hanging out at on a Friday night.

Ryan stood in the center of the little group next to Shane and Steven. Around them were the try guys. The seven of them decided that since the fair was in town, why not go for a night and have some fun.

"So what are we doing first?" Steven asked

"I'm hungry, I say we get some food first." Zach suggested. Everyone agreed and they quickly found a food truck. Ryan was about to order when Shane tapped his shoulder. Ryan turned and looked up at Goliath himself.

"Hey I'm not that hungry, do you just want to share?" Shane asked. Ryan looked at the food that others were carrying and considered his own hunger.

"Sure why not. Hotdogs?" He asked, his friend nodding in agreement. Ryan ordered and went to pay when Shane stopped him and paid instead. They stepped off to the side. "You didn't have to pay man."

"It's fine, I got it." Shane smiled at him and they waited with the rest of the guys for their food.

The group quickly ate and then it was time to find out what ride to go on now. Ryan looked around the park and noticed the good sized rollercoaster nearby.

"Let's go on the rollercoaster!" Everyone was on board immediately, that was, except from his ghoul friend. Shane looked terrified, as if he was going to have an anxiety attack at the mere sight of the coaster. Shit! I forgot he was afraid of them! I'm so inconsiderate. "Shane are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm fine I just-"

"I know buddy, I'm sorry I forgot. You don't have to go." Ryan gave him a comforting smile as the group started to walk to the rollercoaster. "I won't go, I'll stay with you."

"No Ryan-"

"Nope- decision made. I'm staying with you Madej." He grinned when Shane finally gave in. The two of them explained to the others what was going on now and as they reached the ride the group realized-

"This is gonna take a while." Keith said, a few of them mumbling in agreement.

"Yeah you two, feel free to go walk around while we're waiting." Eugene put in. Ryan nodded and Shane looked so much happier now.

"Will do. Don't get too bored, text us when you're out." Ryan saluted jokingly, turning to Shane and waving for him as the other joined the line. The two friends walked in quiet for a little bit, before Shane finally spoke up.

"What do you want to do?" Shane asked him. Ryan looked around the park, all the lines were super long and he would want to go on more than one ride with his friend before they had to go back.

"What about the fair games area?" Ryan rose his voice over the music, looking at basically the other side of the park.

"Trying to get some cheep fair prizes Bergara?" Shane teased, but they started to head in that direction. As they got further to the center of the park, the crowds got larger and the distance between Ryan and Shane grew. "Hey little guy, Where'd you go?" Shane was looking around and Ryan had to practically jump to get his attention. He shoved his way closer to Shane and grabbed his hand.
