chapter seven

Blake knew she had said she was going to go full Kook and stop hanging with the Pogues, but she felt the need to check on John B. He had almost drowned, she had to know he was okay.

Just as she was walking down the hallway she saw her mother greeting two men at the door. Both of them were wearing black suits and carrying a suitcase, men like those were around her house quite a lot.

Jean Woods made her way towards her office with the two men trailing right behind, they were going to talk business, that's what they always said.

That was the reason Blake never let her friends hang in her house, there were things about her she'd rather not have them know. The Woods family was not as clean as everyone thought.

"Dad is coming home soon. Those men are really powerful from what I've gathered, they want to talk with him" Jack said making his way into the hall from the living room

Blake shivered at the thought of her dad coming back. She loved him, but she knew that when Henry Woods comes to town, trouble soon follows.

"Did he call?" Blake asked her brother

"Yes, you were sleeping" Jack said making Blake nod, she knew exactly what he meant

"Okay" she nodded

Blake left out a breath she didn't know she was holding as soon as she stepped out of her house.

Blake took her sunglasses from her hair and put them on her eyes to shield them from the sun. She dangled her car keys in her fingers and opened her car.

People in Figure Eight used to warn Blake of what would happen if she drove her Porsche down to The Cut, but she knew none of that was true, everyone knew and loved her, they wouldn't touch it.

Blake parked her car just outside The Château and made her way in. Luckily, only John B was there. She wasn't in the mood for JJ right then.

"Hey Blake!" John B smiled softly when he saw his friend

She looked at him and ran into his arms. She was so glad he was okay.

"Oh my god! JB" she mumbled into his naked chest "are you okay?" She asked him breaking the hug

"Yeah! I'm fine, don't worry" he chuckled at the girls reaction

"I'm so sorry JB, Topper is an asshole, I'm going to kill him" Blake sighed sitting down on the couch

"You don't have to be sorry for anything Blake, I should be the one thanking you. You were the first one to step up and try to stop him" John B sat down next to her wrapping an arm around her shoulders

"Look about JJ, I don't know what happened to him" John B told her

"I don't want to know anything about him, JB" Blake scoffed thinking about the blonde boy

"But he is your best friend" John B commented

"Not anymore" she sighed

"Get decent sweetie, we need to talk!" Sheriff Peterkin's voice was heard from outside the house making both teens share a look and stand up "Sorry to break in like this but DCS called, they wanted me to check on you" she said noticing Blake's presence

"Miss Woods, it's good to see you" Sheriff Peterkin said looking at the young girl

"You too, Sheriff" she smiled sweetely

"Can you give us a moment?" Sheriff Peterkin asked Blake, who shifted uncomfortably.

"Sure! I was just leaving anyway, there's somewhere I'm expected to be" Blake said taking a last glance at John B before walking out the door.

She tought that would be the last time she was going to talk to John B in a long time. Little did she know that time was actually going to be a lot shorter than she expected.

Blake started her car once again and made her way towards the Cameron's, where Sarah was waiting for her, but instead of the bubbly blonde, she heard her own mother.

Blake sneaked into the hallway and saw her talking with Ward Cameron.

"You had one job Ward, we can't let those two running around looking for it" Blake heard her mother say with an angry face

"Jean, you know all the things I had to do! You are talking as if this is an easy job. At least I took care of out main problem long ago" Ward exclaimed frustrated

"Henry is coming back, he will want to talk to you. Until then he said told me to pass you a message, you have one last opportunity" Jean said taking a sip of the liquid the glass she was holding had, probably whisky.

"Blake! You are here" Blake broke out of the trance she was in listening to her mom and Ward conversation to face Sarah

"Hey Sarah!" She smiled sweetely at the girl and joined after throwing a last look toward her mother and Ward.

"So I overheard Rafe saying he had fun with you last night" Sarah and Blake were currently in the blonde's room gossiping about boys as they always did when they were together.

"I was bored and your brother is hot" Blake shrugged as she threw a teddy bear up in the air and caught it in her hands afterwards.

"Ugh! That's my brother you are talking about!" Sarah made a disgusted face and hit Blake with a pillow making her laugh "Besides, I though you had something with that psycho blonde Pogue friend of yours" Sarah commented

Blake stopped everything she was doing the exact moment those words left her mouth.

She could see the images of him pointing at her with the gun at all times, she hadn't even slept that night.

"Nothing is going on" Blake simply replied "Have you got any dress in mind for Midsummers?" she changed the topic quickly, she didn't want to talk about JJ.

Her heart broke the exact moment JJ pointed the gun at her, what she didn't know is that his broke too.
