chapter nineteen

"It's not there" John b sighed "Look, just pull the drone up" John b said putting up his hood and going to the side of the boat devastates

"You knew it wasn't going to be there right?" JJ asked Blake who just kept a straight face

"The royal merchant is in the continental shelf, it was impossible that the gold hadn't been found" she explained

"Why didn't you say anything?" JJ asked her

"He was just finishing what his father started and I do believe the gold is somewhere, just not here and I know he will find it" Blake smiled softly looking at John b alone at the side of the boat.

She believed in him, he needed someone to do it.

Blake joined Kie and Pope outside to help pulling up the drone.

"The gold could be buried, we don't know" Blake heard JJ say

He, Pope and Kie had been arguing for a bit until Blake decided to speak up, they were not going anywhere.

"JJ leave it" she put a hand on his shoulder to stop him

Blake knew that John b was stressed and he definitely didn't need more unnecessary pressure

"If it was there, it would've been found on the metal detector, okay? Somebody beat us to it...or it was never there" John b sighed frustrated

Blake could see the tears forming in his eyes and she just smiled at him and just knew that he needed to be alone so she just grabbed JJ and left with him.

The following day Blake decided to stay home but with the absence of their mother, Jack invited Topper and Rafe. She could not even have one calm day.

"Sarah's been stressing all day about the dress for midsummers" Rafe complained talking about his sister

"I know, we facetimed earlier to choose a dress" Blake said taking a sip of her drink

"Oh, so you've already got one?" Rafe asked her getting closer

"Wouldn't you like to know Rafe?" Blake teased him

"Only if you'd like to show me" Rafe smirked making her roll her eyes

"Watch it dude!" Jack threw something at Rafe to stop him from flirting with Blake

"He's really annoying" Blake rolled her eyes

It was a sunny summer afternoon and a day with ni pogue drama ended up being way better than what she had expected.

"You're awfully quiet Topper" Blake said noticing hiw he hadn't said barely anything the whole time

"Has Sarah told you anything about the other day?" He asked her

"She told me what happened, nothing more" she replied

"I messed up Woods, I really did" Topper sighed and touched his face.
