"Ugghh, I swear to god if another child run past me with his feet full of sand imma kill them all." my best friend growled as she took a sitting position on her beach towel, wiping the sand off her thighs with a frown.

I giggled, lifting my sun glasses up on my forehead, turning on my side to face her.

It was a hot and sunny day and the beach was crowded. Me and my best friend (bf/n) had went off on a vacation for two weeks, trying to relax a bit from our jobs. And I was glad it was working so far. Being away from your boss and all the drama feels so fucking good.

Enjoying yourself feels so fucking good.

The sun was slowly beginning to go down but we could still see it high in the sky, hovering us as its heat felt good on our bronzed skin. Kids were running and playing around, family enjoying the moment with their relatives.

Despite the fact that I nearly died that day, It was a good day.

"I'm gonna swim." I said, getting myself up, wiping the sand off my back and butt even though I was going to wash it off in the water, dumb reflex.

"'K, don't go die or anything. Not that I'll be sad about it." (Bf/n) shouted as I was walking towards the clear water, my surf board in hand.

"Yeah, don't expect me to get out of your life that easily hun." I retorted looking furtively around with a grin.

I approached the shore, my feet finally made contact with the warm water and I slowly went deeper in the beautiful sea. There were not a lot of people in the water because it started to be late in the afternoon and family were gradually leaving. The wind made its apparition, best part of the day to go surfing.

When I was far enough and the water stopped at my waist, I climbed on my surf bord and moved myself forward with my hands. The wave were slight and not too high so it was pretty cool. When I was at a good spot, I brushed the water with my hands and waited for a good wave. In this small amount of time, everything started to be peaceful. I enjoyed how the humid wind blew past me and how my feet didn't touched the sand below, just freely swaying in the water. The soothing sound of the sea made it even better. I was floating, thinking randomly.

I suddenly perceived a wave that seemed not too bad. I didn't really took a look at how big it actually was. As I was gently sliding, the wave came at me and I turned around and my eyes widened, it was really big. My surprising stance made me hesitate and I didn't reacted in time, the wave crashed onto me, making me go deep under the water.

It all happened so fast, I didn't took a good breath and as I sank further down, I quickly felt like gasping for air. I wasn't good at apnea, I think my under water record must be like 35 or 45 seconds. I totally panicked and made it worst, I desperately needed air.

I noticed that the thing that reattached me to my board was gone. Shit. I opened my eyes in the water, observing how my body sank away from the bright surface.

"Shit, is this it ? Did anyone saw me ? I don't think so, I was pretty far from the crowd. Fuck, is this how I die ? I thought I'd die in a rollercoaster or by having an overdose of poptarts. Or maybe by saving some grandma of being hit by a car. Nope, you die alone, drowning you and your shitty self. Good job (Y/N)." Is what I thought as I saw my life passing before my eyes.

My sight started to blur and I slightly perceived a figure reaching for me but my eyes completely closed just after.

When I regained consciousness, I felt lips on my own, and felt air fill my lungs. My eyes widened suddenly and I started coughing water as soon as the previous lips diverged from me. I found myself coughing my entire soul to the side, I really thought I was gonna die again. I whipped my mouth and looked around me, my eyes still a little bit blurry. I was on the beach, safe and it looked like there were a grouping around me as tall figures that I couldn't clearly see stood in front of me. On my right was (bf/n), a worried expression covering her face.
