We went to a rooftop bar on top of a hotel in KTown after dinner. Sabine and Elle went to get us a table while Kai and I went to the bar to get drinks.
EDM was blaring from the speakers and lights of different colors are illuminating the dim atmosphere. I roam my eyes around and nakikita ko na some people are dancing. Some are standing and talking habang may hawak silang drinks. May iba naman are starting to flirt with each other. Either they're a couple or they're trying to get laid for the night. Some are even struggling to get their flirt on and trying hookup for the night. Napa tawa ako sa sarili.
Hinanap ko naman kung saan banda naka kuha ng table sila Joelle and Sabine. Nakita ko sila sa bandang right corner malapit sa Fire exit. Napa smirk at napa iling ako ng ulo kasi May nag try na lumapit sa dalawa and they easily dismissed them.
Napa baling ako sa gilid ko ng bigla kong narinig si Kai.
"What do you want for drinks besh? " Tanong nito habang nasa harap na niya ang bartender.
"Four lychee martinis." Sabi ko kay Kai at ibinalik ko ulit ang tingin kila Elle.
"Agad agad? Apat talaga?" Naka smirk na Sabi niya. Nilingon ko siya ulit and I just nod my head at her. Natawa siya. Narinig ko naman na inorder niya ang drinks ko at umorder siya ng drinks nila ni Sabine.
I'm balancing the four martinis in my hand as I carry it to our table. Elle helps me by taking the two martini glasses from me and puts it on the table. As I sit down next to her, she smiles and tells me thank you.
"So, how come there's like four glasses here agad?" She asks a little bit louder above the noise near my right ear so I can hear her.
"Wala Lang. I just didn't want to go back to the bar after 10 minutes to order another martini." I told her before sipping my drink.
"I got you the other two you know." I tell her as I slide the glass over to her.
"Thanks. I love lychee martinis." She beams at me.
"I know!" I wink at her and smile. I sip my drink as I roam my eyes around. Hindi na ko nagulat ng may nag me-makeout sa katabi naming table.
Continue lang ang inuman namin at chitchatting about our day. Nakita ko naman si Kai at Sab na sobrang sweet. Napa ngiti ako sa dalawa at nilingon din ni Elle ang dalawa at nag smile.
"You guys want to dance?" Naka ngiting tanong ni Kai.
I motion to our drinks and then nod at her slightly. "We'll finish our drinks first. Mahirap na maiwan ang mga ito. Baka when we come back eh may roofies na mga ito." She nods at me and stands up taking Sabine by the hand. They went to the dance floor and started dancing.
Nag kwentuhan Lang kami ni Elle about her work and how my day went that day.
Bumalik na ang dalawa sa table namin after two songs.
"Hey Jo, pourquoi tu ne lui demandes pas de danser?" (Why don't you ask her to dance). Ngiting-ngiting tanong ni Kai kay Elle in French. Ganyan silang dalawa. They sometimes speak French, especially when they want to irritate the hell out of me. I don't speak French, but I could pick up a few words here and there. Danser is dance. Pourquoi is why. Marahil ay tinatanong ni Kai si Elle kung gusto sumayaw.
Elle gives Kai a death glare and takes a sip of her lychee martini before speaking. "Quoi? Tu sais que Je ne peux pas fair ça Kai!" (What? You know I can't do that Kai)
"De quoi as-tu peur?" (what are you afraid of)? Kai asks her with a sly smile on her lips.
Elle glared at her and downed her drink and set it on the table harshly. Nagulat ako sa ginawa ni Elle. I don't know what's going on but these two need to stop.
"Okay. You two stop that!" Sabine butts in and kisses Elle on the cheek and smiles apologetically at her then looks at Kai and reprimands her girlfriend with just one look.
"Fine. I'm sorry Jo." Kai smiles at Elle, stands up and gives her a side hug and kisses her head. Ngayon ko Lang na realized, na naging sobrang close na nitong dalawa. Mabuti naman.
"Tu es un connasse mais je t'aime amie!" (You're an asshole, but I love you friend). Elle hugs her back and smiles at her. She then pinches Kai's cheek so hard until Kai screams bloody murder. Kai pushes her gently and walks back to Sabine's side and pouts. Sabine gently pats her cheek and kisses it.
"There. There. All better ma cherie." Then Sab turns to Elle and high fives her as she laughs at her girlfriend too.
Meanwhile, the woman beside me can't stop laughing her ass off as she looks at Kai's red tinged cheeks.
"Ikaw babae ka! Minsan na nga lang tayo mag kita nanakit ka pa eh no. La pute!" Maktol ni Kai kay Elle. Na ikina ngisi naman nito. (Bitch).
"It's your fault you ass!" Elle throws back at her while still laughing at Kai's misery.
"Seriously, you guys are such bitches! Talagang nag French pa kayo! Eh kayong tatlo lang nag kakaintindihan!" I retort with a slight amusement. They look at each other and just laugh at me.
"Puttana!" Ganting biro ko in Italian. We all laugh at that. (Bitch).
"Mi dispiace mi amica." Kai tells me as she raises her glass and winks at me playfully. (I'm sorry my friend).
"Oh Tapos mag Italian naman kayo! Pano kami ni Sab?" Elle said while crossing her arms on her chest and playfully scowls at me and Kai.
"Si signorina (see-nyo-reeh-nah). Perché la notte è bella come noi (because the night is beautiful like us). I tell her para mainis and raise my glass at them.
"Certo, che si (Yes, of course)." Kai agrees and she starts clinking our glasses. Nag tinignan sina Elle at Sab at sabay tumawa. "Cin! Cin!" She adds.
"Ang aarte nyong dalawa!" Si Elle and sabay-sabay kaming nag tawagan pag ka sabi niya non. "Dami nyong alam sa buhay!" Sabay irap nito kay Kai. Pero ngumiti din naman.
"Uy besh hindi ah. Mas madaming alam yang si Kai. She speaks five languages eh. So, mas lamang siya sa 'kin." I tell her with a sly smile as I bump her shoulder with mine.
"Elle, do you want another round or do you want a different drink?" I ask Elle while Kai is doing the same with Sab.
"Yeah. But this time, make it two rounds of sea breeze please. Thanks Favi." She tells me as she motions her fingers to indicate two. I nod at her and smile.
Kai and I excused ourselves from the two to get more drinks from the bar. We ordered our drinks and we ask the bar tender if we could borrow a tray to hold our drinks.
We continued drinking, talking and enjoying the cool breeze blowing thru the roof top bar. It's such a welcome reprieve from the summer heat and the heat that the alcohol we're consuming is generating in our bodies.
I'm already drunk. I know it. And these three are still normal looking/. It's as if they're drinking water and not cocktails. Dang it! I'm such a wuss. I couldn't even feel my cheeks.
I need some greasy food later to soak up the alcohol I think to myself. I move the left a little bit to make space between me and Elle. I just look at the three of them while they're conversing about something they're planning to do before the summer ends.
I then turn my gaze towards Elle and started to stare at her face. Her lovely bone structure, the dimples on both her cheeks that shows every time she smiles or laughs. How her eyes gleam when she laughs. Then her nose scrunches and her perfect eyebrows meets in the middle when Kai said something i couldn't hear that seems to annoy her. How her plump lips turns into a sexy smirk when Sab said something to Kai and that made Kai pout.
She's really beautiful. I think to myself. I suddenly feel something warm in my chest that radiates from the center and continues to spread to my neck then to my face. I avert my gaze from Elle's face and shake my head gently to get rid of whatever fog I was in.
