"Gwang-Tae-ssi, I don't think I can do this," I spit as Gwang-Tae looks back at me. My will to live had gone far away hearing my brother's news.
"So you're gonna give up on your brother's justice?" Gwang-tae fired. I had no sense of what I said earlier, my mind was clouded with fear, disappointment, and loss.
Gwang-Tae was right, I have to, and it's my right. Justice won't come easily, you have to work on it to get it. I look up at the sky with the determined eyes.
my brother, I'm getting what you deserve.
The route to Silla was silent, no one dared to raise their voice, neither Tae-ssi nor me. We were in our own thoughts.
Life was unfair with my brother, he never felt luxury or a true way of life. He always suffered. Suffered from poor health, and suffered with proper food. In spite of so many backlogs, he nurtured me, gave me all the luxury, and never said no to me. I got everything in my life that he wanted to be his. He sure was a gem for me in my life
"Min, we have arrived," said the man beside me. The big doors opened, and there stood the most prosperous town or kingdom, Silla. It was different than my village in many ways. People looked prosperous, wearing silk hanbok, happy shops, handsome men, decoratives shops, many different artifacts, clean roads, laughing beautiful women, and expensive liquors.
Everything here was new to me, never in my life had I thought I would visit or even stay in Silla, the prosperous land of upper men.
"The pathways didn't change even after 15 years," Tae chuckled. He was remising his stay in this kingdom
"We will be entering the queen's courtyard," said the man on the horse.
Entering the courtyard, the palace was decorated with firelights all over, making it look peaceful. The tombs and the lake glistened in the reflection of the fire. Ducks swimming happily in the lake.
"The queen wants to meet you," said the escort as we followed him to the king's court. There she sat, on the higher leveled floor than the normal, with silk rob and neatly combed hair. Seemed like her eyes were determined on her old general, somewhat happy to see him.
"Welcome back Gen. Gwang and you too ms. Min," her pleasant voice spread all over the court as we bowed to her.
"The late king wanted to recruit soldiers to make our Army strong, but seems that the soldiers we chose hate each other, Gen. Gwang, how have you been? I'm glad you tagged along with Ms. Min, The master wi hwa wants a helping hand too," She says smiling.
"your majesty, I'm honored to be back, I've been well, Thank you," Tae, bows down as he seems to gladly accept her offer. I guess it's good for me because I'll at least know someone around.
"Ms. Min, your office has been set up, you can start tomorrow with things, All the best," That's all she says. There was something that didn't settle for me. Her face. She seemed sad. somewhat sad. Tae, nudged my arm bringing me to the realization that I left her hanging without any answer.
