I want to Sing

I want to sing
I just want to sing
This low piercing hum
That spreads in my breast.
My eyes have fought
The tears that threatened to fall
But I want to sing.
After slipping away like a spectator
Telling myself that it is my punishment
Yes, a just one for how lightly I took my duty.
Now, the fire burns my toes,
It licks my fingers
And makes my lips tremble.
I don't know how to say it.
How to tell it.
I want to scream it but I know I must be cautious.
Isn't it enough already?
Can't my error be forgiven?
Take me back.
No matter what rigour I have to go through,
No matter the pain,
I don't care.
I just want to sing.
For God
To minister to him
I want to do so badly
So please let me
I am willing and able.
My arms are aching from want,
My voice is itching to rise,
What will I do?
How can I say it?
I want to sing
Oh dear God,
This year, let me sing
Let me sing for you.
