Hey guys! sorry for not updating midnight rose for so long >< been busy but i've thought of writing another story ~^^

Prologue

"No one......no one understands!
As long as Konoha stands, I will never return! For all the pain they have caused to Itachi! even if i have to walk in the darkness, I will, I will take out everyone one of you!"

As he finishes, he attacks ruthlessly.
Naruto blocks and keeps fighting back relentlessly as he tries reasoning with Sasuke.

"Sasuke!! don't you understand??! fighting like this is pointless! Itachi wanted you to protect Konoha , not destroy it! I promised I will bring you back! even if i have to break every single bone in your body!.......I never go back on my word...that's my ninja way. ." He says determined and switching to kyuubi and sage mode.

As they attack non stop, with Sasuke's blaze style jutsus and Susano. They fight to what seems like forever.

"What about her Sasuke??!! don't you care?!"

Dodging and channeling their jutsus at each other , Sasuke laughs insanely. "Naruto!!!"

Everywhere. All the ruins were destroyed leaving craters everywhere.
A war zone. Danger between the shinobi. Almost like another generation of the famed God of shinobis.

Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara.

"Ninja style : Summoning Jutsu!!" both shouted as puffs of smoke appeared with them atop a Giant snake and Toad.

Fighting till their chakra has almost exhausted.

In the back, fighting off the others were the members of Team 7 and the Rookie 9.

Nearing the end, Sasuke and Naruto finishes their final blows with their most powerful technique.

"Rasengan!" "Chidori!"

Clash! Their blows sending them down onto the ground at high speed.

Refusing to lose, Sasuke turns on his mangekyou sharingan and summons Susasno. With the intent to kill.

He strikes Naruto as he is defenseless, closes his eyes and accepts his fate.

SWOOSH. The sound of the sword being thrust into flesh.

Naruto slowly, opens his eyes seemingly confused as he doesn't feel any pain but then gasps in shock while feeling blood splatter on his face as he stares at the figure in front of him.

A moment of silence passes between them as they could not believe the person in front of them was there.

There she was . The one who brought Naruto and Sasuke out of their loneliness . The mother and sisterly figure to both. A kunoichi loved by many. Sacrificed herself for the one she loves. Hoshiha Ai is her name.

"N-n-arut-o....are you okay..?" she speaks painfully as blood trickles down her mouh, she coughs violently.

Tears rapidly start falling down one by one from Naruto's face like raindrops.

"A-a-i - nee chan......w-why??" he thinks shocked beyond.

Sasuke, who also realizes who he had stabbed, looks shocked, stands frozen in place. Feeling as worse as ever, like when Itachi had died , the pain he feels in his heart worsens, as the girl he thought of as a mother, sister and friend is in front of him. His sword stabbed right through her body.

"I-I told y-you i'd always protect you both r-right? e-even if its from each o-ther, protecting those important to me... Because thats m-my ninja way. " Ai says while smiling warmly with difficulty and in pain at both who he thought of as family and little brothers as Sasuke lets his Susano disappear as well as his sword.

"P-please...both stop this nonsense..." Falling to the ground, she states into both their eyes as they catch her and place her as comfortable as she can be. The numbness in her body spreads as she has accepted her fate. Death.

"N-nee-cha-nn .. please.... You h-have to be o-okay!" nauto says while he starts to shake from his sobs.

Silently letting the tears flow, Sasuke deeply regrets what he has done......
'First Itachi....now you? what have i done...! why?' clenching his fists, he looks down at her. The warm and gently eyes that looked after him when he was alone. The eyes that reassured he wasn't alone and that there was more to life than revenge......

Remembering once when his sensei had said ' revenge brings nothing but pain, emptiness and sorrow...' He was right. i should have listened...

Gripping onto Ai's hand gently, Sasuke says "I'm sorry.....I'm so s-sorry n-nee-san please don't leave me!"

Seemingly, Kakashi and Sakura sees the body of Ai, runs over .

"Ai..." Looking down, feeling the sense of guilt as he could not yet protect another friend and comrade, grieves, looking down with regret. Letting Sasuke and Naruto be with her, as she was most important in their life. Sakura glances over, quickly looking at her for her injuries but realizing that there was nothing she could do, her knees buckle and she falls onto her knees...the girl who was so kind. Did not deserve to die.

With Sasuke and Naruto still by her. "Naruto......I know that one day, you will become Hokage ,since I won't be there, promise me.....you will bring peace to this wretched world of ninja?"as she wipes his tears for him and Sasuke.

"I-I p-promis-e..." he cries out to her.

"S-sasuke... as my final wish....will you please return to Konoha? your home, friends and comrades are all waiting for you..... don't let revenge and hatred consume you....i know thats not what your parents would have wanted...nor Itachi..."

Sasuke nods quietly, unable to deny her.

"Maybe....i was too naïve in thinking we could all be together like old times...perhaps after this war...it is possible for you two...your bond is strong..." she trails off, feeling that her time is almost up. Feeling herself slowly fade away, she speaks her final words.

"I-I told you both that I would protect you both till the e-end... remember....I love you both so, so much. And no matter what I will always keep loving you both..." slowly as time seems to fall slowly, her eyes start to close, smiling to them both, as Naruto and Sasuke sobs over their beloved sister, mother , friend. She was what gave them the love, warmth and peace to their lives. She died with a smile on her face...Their most precious person. Is gone forever...
