Breaking up with someone is difficult. No matter how many times you've done it, it seems to grow increasingly harder each and every time. For Hazel, it was no easier with Dylan. By the end of this month, March, she was hoping to have found a new apartment and move back near her friends. This, though, came with leaving Ireland. She tried explaining this to Dylan, but he suggested long distance. Hazel was persistent, telling him it would never work, but he was persistent as well.
"But Hazel, I love you, you can't just give up that easy, we've got to at least try." Dylan says, holding onto Hazel's hands.
Hazel takes her hands out of his, stepping back from him. "Dylan, I can't. I can't stay here anymore, and I can't be with you anymore."
"Why won't you give it a chance?"
"Because Dyl," Hazel begins, running a hand through her hair, trying to figure out how to say the next words politely, "I just, I just don't love you."
The next moments were filled with much yelling and tears, all of which was from Dylan, before he stormed out of Hazel's apartment, slamming the door behind him. She let her own tears fall from her eyes as she went over and locked her door, then beginning to pack away small items that she didn't use too much.
"That was the worst of it." She mumbled to herself, wiping stray tears from her face.
After Hazel informed her friends that she was indeed coming back to live near them, they assisted her in finding a new apartment, though it proved difficult. The end of March was approaching, all of her stuff was packed up except some furniture and her trampoline, and she, James and Sirius sat sprawled out on her couch.
"They are all too expensive." Hazel groaned, turning her face and burying it in Sirius' chest.
"Just let me help you pay for it, I promise it's not a big deal Hazel." James insists, though Hazel is quick to decline.
"I'm not taking money from you Potter."
James then groaned in frustration.
After a few moments Sirius sat up abruptly, causing Hazel to fall on the floor. He was wearing a happy expression on his face.
"Why don't you just move back in with Remus and I?" He questions as he looks towards Hazel, who is now on the ground.
"I can't Sirius, I have no way of paying rent and I have too much stuff."
"You never payed rent when you did live with me. And besides, Remus and I always talk about how much we miss you in the house, so c'mon. It's the best option you've got."
"And the only option." James chimes in, earning a kick on the shin from Hazel, before she reluctantly agrees to Sirius' proposition.
