THREE
I just finished making exactly 360 invitations for April's wedding and I was extremely proud of myself. I turned to Drew handing him all of the invitations, "Here you go," I said.
There were a few extra for April to frame if she wanted to, or something like that.
Drew made a "not bad" face and gave me a thumbs up. "Normal wedding invitations are all white, but nope, you're too special for that. You decided to go with white and lavender."
"Is that an insult?" I asked.
"Well, I wouldn't compliment you," he answered.
I crossed my arms to keep me from slapping him. "Exactly! Why can't I ever get a compliment from you? Is it because you're never complimented?"
He glared at me, "No-o. When you deserve a compliment, I'll compliment you, got it?"
"Why are you so annoying?" I asked, beginning to get frustrated. "Wh can't you ever be tolerable? Ever??"
"Maybe because I don't want to be," he said, staring at the invitations.
If we were stil teenagers, I would argue with him, but now I'm a little more mature, so I ignored his comment. Instead, I grabbed my blazer and headed towards the door. We were in his apartment this time.
"Where are you going?" he asked, sounding annoyed.
"Looking for bridesmaid dresses," I replied, not turning around.
I heard his footsteps behind me, "I'm coming, too."
"Why? That's my job."
"It's my sister's wedding."
"Since when did you care? I thought you were tired of all this 'wedding crap.'"
"Well, I know for sure my hot cousin -- not by blood -- is going to be a bridesmaid and I want her to be in a sexy dress. Not a conservative, plain one."
"Hey, I've got a good style. And April happens to like mine more than yours."
I got into a taxi, with him right behind me. I mentally rolled my eyes. Why can't I be alone?
I gave the address to the taxi driver, while Drew presumed talking. "I'm choosing that dress. Or we'll just have to agree on something, and I'm pretty sure that won't happen."
"Well, the dress has to be lavender, and there are no changes on the color."
"But lavender is too innocent looking."
"Good. Because your 'hot cousin' doesn't need to stand out, your sister does."
He sighed, looking out the window. "Why do you always get the last word?" he mumbled.
"Because that's the way I like it," I smirked, turning away, as well.
In the small boutique, a nice woman showed us three choices for lavendar dresses that made the best bridesmaid dresses.
The worst part was that I had to try them on.
Normally, I would be quick to disagree with it, but I wouldn't know how the dress looked until it was over my skin.
The first one was little dark lavender and reached the knees. This one would look best with accessories and I don't think April would want her bridesmaids looking more glitzy than her.
I turned to Drew asking him what he thought, while I was still trying to look at myself in the dress.
When he didn't respond, I looked up.
