SEVEN

"No," I replied.

"Please!" Drew exclaimed.

"No," I said, simply.

"Why not?" Drew asked, getting annoyed that I'm not cooperating.

"I don't want to," I said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Come on, Mary. Pleeeeasseee," he whined.

I groaned, and sighed. I was never one to say no or else I'd always end up feeling guilty. I quickly changed my mind and accepted.

"Fine," I replied, gritting my teeth. "But I'll only be there for, like, five minutes."

He leaned his head back, grinning, "Thank you!"

"Yeah, whatever. I'm not happy about it," I said.

Drew had asked me help book hotel rooms for the out-of-town guests because there was too many for him to do himself, and we were "supposed to be partners."

I didn't want to because the hotel he chose was the Charles Hotel. My ex-boyfriend was the manager of the place, and I didn't want to go because I definitely do not want to see him. Our relationship ended on awkward terms.

"I know, I'll make it up to you, I swear," Drew promised. "We leave in half an hour. Get ready."

Drew walked into my kitchen making himself a cup of coffee. Wow, great manners, he didn't even ask.

I walked into my bedroom to look ofr an outfit. This was going to be a little harder than usual. I want my ex, Jacob, to see me as someone he can't have.

I chose a tight black dress that women at The Charles Hotel usually wear, and my favorite Jimmy Choos.

I lightly let my hair fall down to my back and combed it. Perfect.

Jacob's going to miss this, I smirked to myself.

When I opened the door, I noticed Drew staring at the TV.

Walking towards my purse, I urged Drew to get up.

"Finally. How long does it take--" He paused.

After I dumped my pack of gum in my bag, I looked at drew, wondering why he had stopped talking.

He was staring at me. He blinked a few times, then said, "Why are you dressed like that? We're booking a few rooms in a hotel, not going to a strip club."

I dropped my jaw. "This isn't 'strip club' material, jack ass!" After I let out a few breaths, I said, "Just want to look good."

"O-oh," he said, smirking. "This is for Jacob, huh?"

"No," I said, unconvincingly. "Why can't I dress like this when you dress like that all the time?" I referred to his usual suit and tie. He always dresses so formal, which I honestly don't have a problem with.

"This?" He said, looking down at his suit. "This is different. Guys are different."

"Oh, yeah. How?" I asked, while walking out the door, with Drew following.

Knowing he was behind me a few inches, I swayed my hips a little while walking to the elevators. I was not taking the stairs in these heels.

"It's normal for guys to walk around in suits sometimes. It's not everyday you see someone wearing their tallest heels and an extremely tight dress like that," Drew hesitated.
