We all got in Louis' new car and silence was in the air. I was in the front with Louis and Liam was in the back with Rose. We reached a red light and Louis reached my hand. He whispered, "Washington D.C. 13." I now remembered.
((FLASHBACK)I was 13 and we were on a bus on our way to Washington D.C. with the school.
"Louis, I'm scared!"
"Sarah relax!"
"I haven't been out of the county let alone the state you dumb butt." He grabbed my hand and whispered, "Sarah, I will always be here for you." I knew that him by holding my hand showed support.((END OF FLASHBACK))
Ever since that day he's shows he cares by doing that. Rose was still crying I turned and we had a small conversation. "Rose are you okay?"
"Yeah only that I was starting to love her... Now she's in the hospital."
"Same here." She continued crying softly until she stopped when we arrived.
We darted to the desk and got the information we needed; turns out we couldn't see her for at least another 5 hours, which was going to be around midnight. A little bit before Liam's parents picked him up they brought me Elias. Then it was just Rose, Louis, Elias, and me.
"Sarah I'm calling my mom for she can call the school."
"Yeah okay." Louis left and it was me and Rose.
" Sarah what really happened?"
"Rose what do you mean?"
"Someone can't be in freaking I.C.U for a fall at the park. What actually happened!" I guess she really did understand me.
"Mom was at the park when there was a shooting. She was one of the few who got shot." I couldn't even finish the story, before both of us started to shed tears. "Mom, covered Elias, which is why she got shot and not Elias. The guys got arrested shortly after and that's how we are here." I heard foot steps and it was Louis.
"Why didn't you tell us the truth," exclaimed Louis. I shook my head and just cried even harder. Elias looked at me and said, "Sarah no cry. You no cry please?" I looked up and I knew I couldn't become a baby now. I had to be even stronger now... For Elias, for Rose, for ME.
Around one in the morning the doctor came to us in the waiting room. "Here for Linda Perez?" We all stood up quickly. "I'm sorry but he's too young to go back there, and it's only one person at a time. Who's staying?"
"I am. Sarah or Rose you guys deserve to speak to your mother go." I signaled Rose to go so she did. I sat back down next to Louis and Elias. I sat there watching Louis and Elias play, after around one or two hours of sleep they turn into little balls of energy. Louis' going to be a great dad when he grows up. I know it, due to the fact, the way he gets when he's around Elias and other kids. Louis interrupted my thinking and asked me, "Sarah would we still date if we go to different colleges?"
"Why are you asking that?"
"It's February. We graduate in May... I turn 18 in March and you Sarah turn them on July. Then college in August. Then Elias, who's going to raise him? Also I don't know what college I'm going to. It's just a lot of things."
"Louis if we love each other and trust each other we can do it." We hugged and just sat there. We both stayed silence for a while until Louis asked a question.
"Sarah, have you ever day dreamed about when your getting married?"
"Umm... Yeah to be honest, I have. Like me, Louis, it's every little girl's dream to get married aside from having a sweet sixteen ((Or Quincenera))."
"Have you dreamed about with whom it is with?"
"Sometimes. Why?"
"No reason. I'm honest with you Sarah, so have I at least twice. I dreamt I would be married by 21, have kids of my own by 22."
"But, aren't you 18?"
"Going to be 18."
"I just hope after this everything will be fine."
"Well, life's a bit- I'm sorry a female dog- and it hates anyone who wants a perfect life."
"I agree."
Rose stayed with our mom the whole night but I'm not blaming her, she's her long lost daughter. In the morning Rose woke us by getting Elias to yell at us.
"Rose Tyler James!" yelled Louis. She laughed and pointed to the room. I was still half asleep so Louis went ahead and talked to her before me. Louis took a walkie talkie, which he didn't even he had on, we had bought that day at the gift shop and I listened to my mother's and Louis conversation without anyone knowing, only Rose
"Hi miss Perez it's me... Louis," he whispered softly.
"Good morning Louis, is Sarah that mad at me? She doesn't want to see me?"
"Not at all but she was still half asleep."
"Okay."
"M'am, where exactly where you shot?"
"Right here." I couldn't tell where she was pointing since I was just listening but, I heard Louis gasp.
"Wow. I hope you get better."
"Louis, listen if I don't make it," I let out a little yelp at the sound of those words and Louis heard. He got the walkie talkie and whispered into it, "Sorry m'am only 1 visitor per room in the I.C.U rooms." He then turned it off.
I started crying again. I couldn't bear my mom asking Louis to do something incase she didn't make it. It was too depressing. Rose went to the cafeteria with Elias leaving me alone.
After like 10 minutes or so, Louis came out. "Babe, you can go now." I quickly stood and fast walked to her room.
"Mom! Are you ok?"
"Sarah I'm fine but there's something you need to know."
"What is it mom?"
"Sarah I was shot near the heart, if I ever pass away-"
"Mom, don't say that!" I ran to her and I hanged on to her hand.
"Let me talk, if I die don't let them take Elias nor Rose away. You just got to meet your twin sister. No matter what, I allow you to live with a friend. Hell, even Louis, just please not that son of a b*tch you have to call 'Dad.' Anyone but him." I laughed at her comment,
"I promise mom. I cross my heart."
"Remember, I LOVE YOU DANIELLE!" No one calls me Danielle (My middle name) except for my mom and Louis when I'm being stubborn.
"I love you too mom." After that I'm guessing that was all she needed to do. I remember like it was yesterday, we were just sitting there when all of a sudden I hear a flat-line.
"Be-e-e-ep!"
I started crying and instantly doctors and nurses rushed in along with Louis shortly behind them. Louis ran up to me and hugged me. I wanted to jump on all the doctors and yell for them to leave her alone that she was okay, but I knew it wasn't. It was too late, my mom had died.
