The next day, both Ruqaiyah and Uthman woke up around the same timing.
Turning to her left side to get a better view of his face, as she tranced his face. "Good morning, gorgeous," he said, hoarsely, making Ruqaiyah warm.
Hiding her face in his chest, she mumbled out, "G'morin', handsome." He then, huskily chuckled in amusement, "Now, I'm handsome, huh?" She scoffed once she raised her face from his chest, laying her chin on it. "As if, keep on dreaming!" "That I will!" he lips twitched, but it faltered once she asked, "Did you have a good sleep last night?"
"Yeah, I did," his frown deepened. "Then? Why the frown?" "It's just," he paused, "it's just that I'm feeling guilty for waking everyone up during that. I'm sure that they hate me from bottom of their hearts -"
Shaking her head vigorously, Ruqaiyah sat up, exclaiming, "W-What the hell are you thinking, Uthman?! Ofcourse, they don't hate you! They love you, heck, they care about you, cherish you! Guess what, Baba always talks about you, saying and I quote, 'Uthman is my third son. I may not be his father by blood or biologically, but he still is and forever will be my son.' Please, don't say that! If not about anyone, think about me! I don't hate you, Uthman, I care about you, but you doubting my care for you, hurts."
His guilt only increased. How could he doubt someone, who cares about him immensely, especially after his grad-pére's death?
He sighed, moving closer to her, to only raise her chin, looking into her chocolate brown eyes. "I'm sorry for doubting your care for me. Really, I am and if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be where I am, today. I care about you too, Ruqaiyah, I mean it. Will you please forgive me for saying such thing, will you?"
She smiled, nodding in response; Uthman sighed in relief. Clasping her hands in his, she tugged it, forcing him to stand up.
"What now?" he groaned. Ruqaiyah bit her lower lip, amused at his annoyance, stifling a laugh. "Breakfast," her lips twitched, "Now, go prepare yourself and come on." After preparing themselves, doing their normal morning routine, together, they went down the stairs to the dining room.
