"Sometimes I wonder about your sleeping patterns,"
Well, this was unexpected. Note my sarcasm, of course I'm in a stupid dream.
"Why am I here? I was awake- am awake," I corrected myself, running my hands through my hair in frustration. I heard the girl gasp with almost amusement.
"Am I hearing this correctly? It appears you're getting sick of me..."
"Oh, I've been sick of you for a long time," I muttered, dropping to the ground and laying back in the flowers. I couldn't remember going to sleep. Maybe when Calum and I were on the couch, I drifted off?
"Pfth, do you want a break?"
"Is that even possible?"
"Want to find out?"
I shrugged. I didn't know if the girl was serious or not. But if she was, a break sounded lovely. Did it mean that I could dream of guys and chick flicks? How one day I might be able to meet Channing Tatum?
Pfth, as if. I didn't even know who Channing Tatum was, just that the girls at school fawned over him like there was no tomorrow.
Everything suddenly went black and being the girl I am, I screamed.
Suddenly, I was standing on a footpath to an oldish looking road. There was a café next to me and a bookstore further up. Oh, and a cinema.
The setting was so unfamiliar but something about it felt familiar. It confused me a lot and I searched for something that I could place.
But everything was like the grey setting on your camera, it was nice, but my eyes longed for colour.
And that was when I saw him.
Calum.
He looked exactly the same and he turned and looked at me, instantly, his face lit up. "Crystal!" he called and he started running towards me.
I grinned and stepped forward, expecting a hug or a high five but instead he grasped my face with his hands and crashed his lips onto mine.
Something about it felt off but it still felt so good. And in the end, the good outweighed the bad and I let it continue. Until I had to pull away to breathe that is.
"Hey," I whispered, my face leaned into his. Our foreheads touched and I couldn't think of anything better than this moment right now.
But everything was still grey so I knew something was still wrong with what I was doing but I didn't ask Calum because the last thing I wanted was to stress him out.
He didn't seem bothered be the greyness so maybe it was only me. If I got to do that every day with Calum, I think I could live through the grey.
"Hey," he murmured and I knew in an instant he'd had a coffee from the café. I could smell it on his breath and oh man it smelt good. "Are you busy later?" he clasped my hand and I fit my fingers between his.
The movements were almost natural. I didn't even have to think about it.
"Not as far as I know," I smirked.
Calum grinned and his fingers traced unknown patterns on my cheek. "Well how about we go do something? Are you hungry?"
I thought for a moment. I guess I was.
"Sure am," I grinned.
"Let's go to Tipsy, that little bar around the corner, remember?" I actually had no clue what he was talking about. I didn't even recognize the town we were in but eh, who cares? I've got him by my side, I'm invincible.
