[Sadie's POV]

I felt my heart jump in my chest as I knocked on this strangers door. But he was far from a stranger. He was my new-found enemy. I mean seriously, you can dump a girl, tell them it's not you, it's me. But you don't dump a girl, kick her out of your car on a moving highway, and risk her getting bowled over by a truck.

That was just rude.

"It's Crystal! I bet!" I heard a female voice and my anger rose to new heights. So he doesn't just kick her out on a moving highway, but he comes home and has a new chick? Wow, this Calum kid had it coming. I hope I don't break his poor face.

Sarcasm. I am going to kick him so hard that his-

"Oh, hi there," I narrowed my eyes at the girl. I recognized her faintly but I didn't have a name. "Who the hell are you?"

"I'm the bitch that's gonna kick you and Calum's ass. How dare you do that to-" the girl held up her hands defensively, a flare of anger in her eyes nonetheless.

"I'd appreciate it if you left my brother alone, he's having a... tough time at the moment," she frowned. "I'm Zoe, thanks for asking,"

"Sadie," I muttered. So this is Zoe, the sister of the evil Hades man who humans called Calum. "And by tough time? Do you mean getting over the fact that he dumped a chick on a moving highway?" Zoe's eyes widened

"He what?" Zoe gasped, whirling around. "Girl, come right inside and make yourself at home," Zoe growled. "And come up to his bedroom with me so we can kick his sorry ass,"

Ah, I liked Zoe already.

"So you dumped her in the middle of a highway?" Zoe started at the door of Calum's room. The house looked old and possibly haunted but I wasn't going to get rude and insult Zoe's house. She was one cool chick. "Gosh, Calum, that's just so sweet of you," the sarcasm was obvious.

"Shut the hell up Zoe! You don't know anything," Calum yelled, startling me. "And who the hell are you?" his gaze struck me.

"I'm the girl who picked up a sobbing Crystal from the side of the road. And you must be the prick who dumped her there in the first place," I cracked my knuckles. "I'd say nice to meet you, but I'd be lying,"

Calum stood up, towering over me. I struggled to hold my posture and Zoe looked at me fearfully as if she was wondering what would happen next.

"Do you think I would've randomly dumped her on a highway if she did nothing to me? Oh she's not innocent in this..."

"So just because she didn't say I love you back you got your panties in a knot and threw her out? Okay, I understand now," I nodded seriously. If my goal was to piss him off (which it kinda was) I think it worked. Like, over the top worked. "I think you should get over your rejection and leave Crystal alone," I suggested, my eyes narrowed.

"I..." Calum sighed and whacked his hand on the door. I didn't flinch as I just stared him down. "I didn't mean to... she just... it hurt, okay? She lied!"

I frowned, confused. "What did she lie about?"

For all I know you could be lying to me right now. And I'd rather trust Crystal over you any day you highway dropper.

"She said she remembered," he sighed. "Could you all just leave me alone? I regret this day enough and I don't need you hassling me over it,"

"Okay, I'll leave. I can't even look at you right now," Zoe walked down the hallway and vanished off into another doorway. I was so lost in this house, god.
